Hey guys I know working out can become boring and there is but so much we can talk about working out, however things have changed in this place not bad or good just different.
I was hoping maybe MAYBE we can bring some life into this place back with videos and pictures of your current training and where you are at.
I've been out of the gym and haven't been consistent in quite some time.
1. Mental reasons depression/anxiety- Thank God I fixed it
2. Due to the close down (Covid)
3. I have a bulging L4/L5 disc which I am currently nursing.
I now have been in the gym for 4 weeks straight today I decided to test the waters and do a 225lbs squat, and a 295lbs deadlift both were not too bad on my back, still contemplating if I should get the injection.
My 3 sons have been in the gym for 3 months now and I am very proud of the 3 of them.
Here is today squats and deadlifts
Deadlifts, my sons did 335lbs.
My 3 sons squat video on this past Monday
Would be nice to see some lifting videos and pictures from the folks who are OK with posting videos and pictures, if this dies down then I will just remove it, but hopefully we can start seeing some progress pictures and training videos.
Lets see them...

Good job on the thread, Johnny. Subscribed. I just wanted to be first
Edit: Make that 2nd. Chazzy
I don't have a video. Good to see you progressing in the weight. It's coming back to you.
The pandemic has changed my workouts a lot. I quit my YMCA after over 25 years. Great gym, but since the pandemic, you have to reserve a place, wear a mask all the time, but mostly because it opens at 5am which is too late for me.
My only other choice is the local Planet Fitness and we all know it is very limited. So, instead of going 5X per week at the Y, I go 3X and do a full-body workout each time, starting with legs. I change up each workout. I know that goes against the optimal progression, but I have dropped 15lbs intentionally and concentrate on form and higher reps, about 8 to 15 reps per set.
For chest as an example, Monday I did Incline DBs at 3 sets of 10 reps. Then dips at 3 sets of 10. Then, I move to Back for 2 exercises. Then Shoulders. Then Biceps. Then 25 mins cardio. So, I am working each body-part 3X per week instead of 1X, which is different.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

In for vids. LWW is on the way too...I think I’ll be garage lifting for a bit. Did light day yesterday out there. My 7 yo son came out too and hit the heavy bag. He does prison workouts in his room, pull-ups on his bed, push-ups etc. Both my kids miss jujitsu, but it’s been canceled since March for the most part (non contact stuff for awhile, but we didn’t attend that crap). They battle it out on the trampoline all the time...
Solid lifts AJ that LM attachment is brutal. Did that yesterday too.Last edited by Plateauplower; 12-04-2020 at 07:51 PM.

That’s awesome. I’m glad I have my stuff out there, it’s cold at first, then gets too hot, but nice having it. My park district place I usually use is at a higher level of clown world for awhile, it makes going inconvenient. There used to be like 7 people at a time in there tops. Now everyone has to line up in a congested corridor and wait for their time slot lol. I think they bleach bomb it every hr or something.

A misc thread that includes lifting. I am in.
405 x 5 on the OMDLB, Old man deadlift bar.
Since covid I have moved pretty much everything into my home garage. I never planned to have a home gym so my garage is/was full of other crap. I moved stuff around and am a bit cramped but have set up a workable home gym while buying home equipment that might as well been made of gold for the prices people are asking for it.
Nice lifting in here. I peak over in AJ's journal a couple times a week to see what he is doing and those OHP's are always damn impressive man!
BH, your son's look like a chip off the old block. Good to see your passion has passed on to the next generation.

Nice!!
Love to see folks getting it done one way or another, you made that look easy!
I am working on my basement right now slowly turning it into a gym lots of junk down there right now.
I love working out with my sons but as I mentioned they go on for a few months then quit then I am back at it by myself
But I always enjoy when they are training with me, they've been doing this with me since they were in their teens, but like I said they never stay consistent they could stop for years on end then comeback. This year they started with me and the last time they were at the gym with me (all of 4 of them) was about 10 years ago.On the list for Bannukah

Possibly. Scheduled to hit an upper session today or tomorrow. It won’t be anything impressive. I haven’t trained hard for awhile. Pretty much just punch the clock, try to get some decent volume in, and stay injury free. The good thing is my shoulders and lower back are not in pain, and I intend to try to keep it that way. I trained for nearly two years, up until the first lockdown, with constant shoulder pain that was a limiting factor. I throttled back for several months early in the pandemic due to working about every hour I was awake to figure things out for dealing with it at work (writing procedures etc). I continued to lift during that time but it was lower effort and everything finally healed up. I try to avoid overdoing it on low rep stuff, instead focusing on moderate intensity and volume with perfect form. So far so good. I think the shoulder issues were mostly biceps tendon related, so i throttled back on direct biceps volume. Lower back I injured a few months ago on a warmup set deadlifting. That took a couple months to heal up.

Is not about being impressive, I think I can honestly say we are passed trying to impress one another.
Hell I am squatting 225lbs for 3!
The truth is I would just like to see how everyone is staying consistent (or trying at least) considering the circumstance we are all faced with. And also I think it gives us a more "real" feel of one another. There are so many folks on here that honestly I would like to know what the fck they look like LMFAO!! Hell its like knowing someone for over 10 years and not have a clue what they look/sound like, so weird...On the list for Bannukah

Lol agree. Might be beneficial for all to help with motivation etc. that’s where I struggle training at home. I just don’t feel as motivated to train as hard and it makes my normal method of supersets a little different just due to equipment. I do some strait sets and some supersets where I can in the garage gym. Hope your boys stick with you for awhile. I look forward to training with my kids when they get a little older. They do “stuff” now as mentioned but not old enough/strong enough to start barbell training yet.
Good thread though. On spread.

Ya variety is good. I think I recommended both that trap and the landmine handle to you. I forgot I bought that trap bar specifically because it was rackable. I might try presses like that. I only do OHP 1X per week and my light day was machine presses and my moderate day was DB presses. Might try that as a variation though, my shoulders are happier being neutral for presses which is how I do my machine and BD presses.

I got a garage session in 4x10 on everything OHP, lat pulldowns, bench, LM rows, curls and some triceps. Even took a vid, but YouTube isn’t working for me - can’t sign in, keeps taking me to google accounts, which I don’t even have. I’m not messing with trying get it reset. I can text them lol. Not bad today mid afternoon at about 40 degrees. It warmed up quick with 60,000 btu diesel fuel jet furnace. Wish I wouldn’t have sold my Airdyne, indoor cardio option w/out wearing a mask would be nice. Might hit kegs tomorrow, I have been trying to do legs 2X per week instead of 3 to keep my lower back happy. I haven’t deadlifted since hurting my back a couple months ago, so I’ll probably get some use out of the trap bar again.
