Good luck to your family on this latest development. Tell me you guys didn't go to the gym knowing you were exposed.

Way to get it done Mark. I've done very similar squats with a landmine, they feel like front squats. With a LM and plates you can also face the opposite direction (away from the pivot) and you sink back into the squat more targeting hams, glutes more. It might work with your setup too? I'd put the bar on my shoulder and push my back against the plates though.

I have "appointments" scheduled all week for the gym. Renewed my membership on Sunday and got a decent machine session in yesterday. I'm already sore today. Only did two light sets of squats because cardio needs to get done today, and I will probably do a really high frequency and low volume on legs for a week or two. Last time I just jumped right back into it my legs were so sore I could hardly walk and that's just not good. I plan to hit 2-4 sets of squats today before incline treadmill or elliptical. Wearing a mask for squats sucks, but I find the surgeons masks much better than what I tried before with thin cloth. I won't be able to get any vids though unless I'm sneaky, against the rules at my gym. Felt good getting back into the gym though. I changed my schedule to work 6am-2:30pm and my gym time slot is 3:30-4:15pm. Its nice sleeping an extra couple hours and easier to reduce my calories putting off my first meal until noon. I was around 1500 cals yesterday without any struggle. Cals will increase as my activity increases, but keto and IF seem to work well together. I feel asleep before being hungry for my third meal.

Dude that is so wrong, it's not about you, you do understand asymptomatic right? If you do test positive you should let the gym know so they can let members know of possible contact, it's situations like this that is spreading the sh!t.

I understand this sentiment, but more evidence is coming out that PCR tests are not that reliable for asymptomatic people and causing a lot of false positives. Personally, I wouldn't test unless showing symptoms. If you really think you've been in a situation with a symptomatic person diagnosed with covid that has a reasonable chance of infecting you, then I would just quarantine for a few days to see if symptoms develop and go from there.

Thanks for the tips, Plat. Yes, much like front squats. I might try the shoulder thing, but I worry because the metal part is loose and not stable and very heavy. But, we will see. Thanks.

Plus, if you (not you) are going to a gym and worried about Covid, you (not you) should be careful and stay away from people. Our gym owner quarantined himself when he knew he had it, however everyone (except me) at the gym got Covid from someone else, none of those folks quarantined from the gym, but I never got it cause I didn’t talk directly to them, I don’t wear a mask in the gym, so it’s possible to be around Covid and not get it. I know I never got it cause my wife or grandmother never got it. At least with my grand mom I kept my distance, I never breathed on her.

That’s my one and only post on the subject, not hijacking this thread.

Thanks man, my son said it just feels like a cold, but since he is a fireman he had to get tested. My granddaughter felt sick (cold like symptoms as well) but is better now. My wife's job (because she was around my son and granddaughter who tested positive) told her to stay home for 14 days. Yesterday she went to get tested but crazy enough where she went they did not take her insurance, so she has another appointment today at 11:00 AM. She is begging me to get tested, might do it for her, but not sure as I don't feel sick at all.

If they run lots of amplification cycles it increases the chances of a false positive. Too few cycles and you can miss it unless someone is shedding a lot of virus. It's not perfect. I was reading a published meta data analysis that was now suggesting that truly asymptomatic people (those who never develop symptoms despite being infected) are actually responsible for very few cases since they are not shedding much virus (seems logical). However, pre-symptomatic people are the cause for much of the spread. People who are highly infectious, but not yet feeling symptoms, but later develop symptoms up to several days after being highly infectious. Its a "sneaky" virus.

    Another Approach with Singles

Didn't need the week off from Deads. Started a new approach to singles. Instead of making 35-40# jump, and waiting 5 minutes, I made a 20# jump in approx. 1 minute.

    This was easy.

Supramax, not making a big deal about it, but I started these higher, but I do have a habit of lowering the hips, you should see the weight move at higher hip position.

    Watch, 425 x 1 / 445 x 1, basically a load lift rest period.

Looking good man. I did some just a little while ago but chose music over videoing it . I took 225 off the rack since much easier to load the other plates after the 45's are on. I felt a little twinge as I did a couple romanians before setting it down.

So I was going to try 365 but figured I'd better cool it. Don't want a strained hip and back too. So just stuck with 295x4x5x4 which felt good. I probably could have got 8-10 on the 2nd set if I wanted to.

Also got a couple new things for the dungeon...

You made 425 look easy. Going by the angle of your thighs, your hips were higher when the weight left the ground when you did 475 the other day.

No vids for me today. 4 sets of squats 135x10/225x8/275x6/315x4 in running shoes. Then 50 minutes on the elliptical. 1550 cals so far today, might get a little more protein in before bed. Down 6lbs from NYE pizza binge weight (hit 225) lol.

Nice sets. Running shoes are shoes meant for running Squishy for squats/deads. I usually wear wrestling shoes for squats/deads because they are flat and have no cushion in the sole.

I've never owned a pair of sneakers, maybe I should buy some; when I run on a treadmill with my running shoes I sound like a Clydesdale galloping.

So wait all jokes aside they really are shoes and not sneakers with a rubber bottom?

As promised, vids with the report:
    Bench day yesterday.
Coach changed my foot placement. I have very short legs so have been using a 'platform' (usually weights) to allow me to put my feet flat. I took away the platforms and am using the 'up on toes' placement which is allowed in my fed (USPA). It is a counter-intuitive stance for me, but wow it felt much better. I felt more connected to leg drive and was able to feel the groove better when bringing the weight down. Hopefully can develop some muscle memory for when the weights get bigger.
Felt good despite having the covid vaccination the previous day and some arm soreness, as well as dentist visit an hour before

    3x4 @ 225 3 sec descent (vid)
    3x8 @ 205 wide grip
    3x12 pull downs
    3x12 tricep extension
    2x12 flys

Nice work. I was weak as heck yesterday on bench but did deadlifts the day before so think that had me worn out.

The vid just needed that "v =" taken out to work properly

Thanks Ezra! I'll get it right one of these days
Right now I'm usually doing squat Monday, bench Wed, DL Thurs. Works well for fatigue management.

    Nice!
