Tater finally taking off the shirt. I'm no good at doing poses. Laugh it up, I'm working on it, it's progress. I think I look better in the bathroom mirror.

Here is a two week update, definite progress, this is training back and chest/tris 4-5days a week and not eating on the clock. I basically eat a anything for dinner, I just don't stuff my face. I'm now training side bends 4-5days a week (100# plate under the arm).

Knee surgery 4 weeks ago. Doing hell PT since then. She cleared me for box squats, got 125 x 10.
Right around 75 x 10 the pain was indescribable, my eyes were leaking I was leaning over the barbell like I can not do another rep.
Did 5 more sets.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Classic. A guy I know in his early 80's now (who used to body build pretty hard in the 1970's) told me that bodybuilders/lifters hurt themselves in the dumbest ways. Very rarely from the gym. Like they'll slip and try to brace themselves and tear something, yet pressing/pulling/squatting big fkn weight--no problem. LOL.

Don't post much here despite things going really well and consistently for a solid five years now. My workouts just don't lend to interesting videos. I rarely do sets under 10 reps and this body just wasn't made to do impressive strength achievements. Still, I've found others ways to dial up intensity and make progress and work on the best version of me. Every now and then I pull out photos of the scarecrow physique that I was and appreciate where I've come despite not having the best genetics. Had a really feel good and thrashed leg workout yesterday and just felt good about from where I have come, how things are going, and what lies ahead.
Keep pushing.

1st real squats since knee surgery.
Actually since July when I F'kd up my knee.
Bike 5 minutes to get the blood flowing. Grabbed a bunch of those Kreiberg style plates and made myself a little bench for bench squats. Set pretty high, got up to 135. Then I started pulling plates off the stack, just below parallel was a pleasure/pain kind of thing. 3 sets of 6 with 135. Was sweating like a dog.
Pretty humbling when I used to routinely rep 3 plates.
I'll get it back, in this for the long time, or as long as God allows me to unrack a Barbell on my shoulders.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Are you taking anything to help with movement/pain..? Like Glucosamine, Collagen, or anything?
Always had bad shoulder pain especially after bench, probably because of years of bad form, and sports (Lacrosse, Water Polo) but I started free hanging from the pull-up bar for 30 seconds, sets of 3, and my shoulders feel like I was 20 again. I'm 45 btw

@bando, sorry to hear! Wow, hope you heal up quickly.
@ecto, nice work man it shows.
@flex, always representing. Nice job!
@LWW, my man. Much respect to the tenacity that few others even dare to have!
Me....just first workout of the year. Not much ever changes on this end. 50 is about a month away. Settling into the reality that the gym is just a thing to 'stay in shape' as I get older. I'd like to think I still have some fight in me, but unfortunately my body wont cooperate where my mind wants to go. I am cool with it all. I probably sound like a quitter, (at least that is what I think I sound like), but my hardcorez days are in the past. Kinder more gentle me is here to stay.
Enjoying a lot of stuff outside the gym. The gym is still what I do for 'me', but..... well no one wants to hear it
Here is to a healthy 2023 all!

Looking good ID.
Saw the most hilarious thing in the gym yesterday. Family of Resolutioners doing a circuit with the machines, Mom would do a set on one machine then carefully spray and wipe it down. Then Daughter would do a set on that machine then carefully spray and wipe it down, then Dad and Son same thing. Glad they're in there and commiting to it as a family but I had to work to not LOL at them.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Another 2 week update. BW is 200 exactly.
1-2sets but also training the same exercises 4 or more times a week. I may hit a bodypart, go back to work, eat, then hit another body part in the same day.
Today I did a 50 rep set of skull crushers. I'm also now doing 2-sets of 50reps in the squat and then doing calve raises with no rest.

Here are my side bends with 100# plate.
Working my to 100 of these daily. I'd rather look like a bodybuilder that can fight than a useless waterballoon pumper, lol.

Looking great LWW!
With the rain storms in California I'm not used to them with the drought, so I slipped and took a fall on the sidewalk. I feel so silly but the left side of my body has been pretty painful and I had the chiropractor take a look at it since I had to see him anyways for my back. I only did walking and riding the bike but just did some light chest, back and try last night and my left side, where I fell, is sore this morning.
I guess this is our future when we are over 60--falling.Make It a Great Day! Just call me Dusty. It's a Clown 🤡 World out there.

Hi Dustin, using the teeth like I’m doing is a bit sketchy but one main reason I train neck is to help protect it from accidents.
There is a guy named Joe Ponder, he got into a car accident and was paralyzed for a brief period until the medics hit a bump, then he felt the pain. Once he felt that, he knew he was getting another chance.
He was a farmer, after the accident he began carrying 50# bags of feed with his teeth to strengthen his neck. He eventually pulled semi trucks with his teeth.Authentic Knights Swing Heavy Steel and Have Hands and Wrists of Steel!

>35 workout crew. I am turning the page on my 40's this week. Last workouts this week in my 40's and on to a new chapter.
Took this really quickly last night.
One of the disadvantages of my frame is easy to see here. I have narrow shoulders and wide(er) waist. Not posing, I look pretty small. I got lots of back and lats tucked up under my arms, but from the front, you really dont see them. So 'relaxed' I blend in pretty easily.
Feeling OK about moving into my 50's. A little lost, but hoping to find some focus and motivation soon. Diet been most lax in many years. I got a new icecream maker for Christmas and I have been eating like a pint every workout night and then on weekends Ninja Creami for the win!

Arms looking massive ID, you don't even train them directly that much IIRC? I love ice cream but have been doing protein smoothies every night, not as tasty but I have to do it to hit my proton goal.
This year I started my cut at the appropriate time and feeling good about it, down 5lbs. 2X a day workouts for now, shooting for 3X in March.
Question: Anyone ever fix an arm imbalance? Left is noticeably smaller so trying to bring it up by isolating that side with heavier weights and more reps on dedicated arm day.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.
