So getting down to the nitty gritty now. I am approaching what I would call 'very' lean state. I am at the point where small water shifts make LARGE differences in the way I look. I can see the last bit of fat stores are leaving, and granularity along my flanks is fully visible. There is a small pockets of fat that reside between the abdominal muscle walls that run vertically down the center of the body. I can see that retreating deeper and deeper. It almost looks strange as I can flex and pull it in like over an inch deep. I can see there just a bit left to go.
This is a picture from gym on thurs taken 'cold'.
Go on vacation all next week so it will be a little bit of set back, but going to just keep going.
Fasting is the key. This was my dinner last night and I stopped on the way home to get some dessert. I went with 3 snickers icecream bars, a cone of vanilla, and then I ate about 3 servings of sherbet. Then a few cookies and milk.

Good work on keeping to the plan and reaching goals!
I too had a week off and didn't lift - was nice to have a break but felt great to get back in the (garage) gym last night!
Definitely sore but felt good. Did squats and I think 419 3x6 is a PR but in any case it was a good getting back into it workout.

Wow, after those (heavier than I thought) squats on Monday I was more sore than I've been in a long time!
Bench went ok but my leg drive wasn't great, so wasn't able to complete the 6th rep to get a PR at 286lbs.
But was still a good workout!

Rough day yesterday. After a good warmup I just struggled through all my main sets. It took me an extra set to hit my minimum rep target. Disappointed, but some days are like that.

4 posts in a row by me is not a good sign my bros and sistahs!
Monday continued my rough week or so of feeling ****ty. Could just be allergies or something else but stamina and energy were down. Coudn't rep out more than 4x6 @ 265 when I was shooting for 285... ah well got it done!

Admire the drive. I can see it in that last set of squats. I can almost taste it. Very nice. Just be careful as form is breaking. Respect for the digging deep for sure!
Still here. Just got back from weeks vacation. No fuks given. Ate too much every day, drank a little too much. Thankfully got just the right amount of sun.
Back to work. Leg day tonight.

Thanks! Yup, Just gotta keep at it! I've been here, working hard for going on two years, I'm bound to finally start hitting plateaus now... just been feeling crappy for the past couple weeks but yesterday was finally a little better.
Sounds like you had a good week break! As long as you get back at is (like you said) you'll be great!
Thanks AJ. Glad to see you keeping at it too.
Yesterday finally starting to feel a little better. Went conventional and started really light to see how I felt but worked up to my last couple sets at 425. Overall moved pretty well.

Last summer I thought I'd see if I could bench 3 plates for the first time ever, and did. Even posted the video after y'all said it didn't count without a video.
Since that one filmed rep I've only barbell benched a few times and never over 2 plates. Thought maybe I'd try it again this summer and do it on my 60th birthday in a couple weeks.
Did 275 (one rep) on Monday and it was pretty easy. Did 285 yesterday and it went up but was kinda hard, but my foot slipped as it was going up so maybe that affected it. Anyway, don't know that 315 is going to happen this year. I jacked my shoulder up a few weeks ago playing frisbee of all things and it hurts when benching. Plus my spotter (wife) is out of town for a couple weeks now. Haven't needed her yet, but I like her standing by in case I get in trouble. Guess I could just ask one of the kids at the gym. Plus (insert other excuses as I think of them)...
What's the best 3 week plan to get there? I never tried over 275 last year before the day I did 315, so maybe I can get it again this year. Is there a best short term plan?

Bump,
It’s been 24 hours, my biceps are sore to the touch from doing rows with atlas stones. My lats are sore too (this is the best bicep exercise I’ve ever done), this also hits the back muscles in different ways than deadlifting, even zerchers won’t do the job that stones do.
I also did neck harness work yesterday too using a head harness (I usually do bridging and teethlifting). My traps are sore as hell up through my neck.
Feels like I’ve been hit by a truck today, in a good way!

I don't recommend a 3 week program Gabbar - just get back into a regular plan and work your way up at the pace your body will allow!
Good stuff!!
Did a Sunday workout a little more than usual because I may not be able to do much this week due to a scheduled medical procedure.
Still improving/feeling better. Did 4x10 at 225 and accessories.

Progress, at the beginning of this video I do a double bicep pose, you can easily see the gains I've made physique wise, this isn't just a high rep squat vid that no one wants to sit through and doing squats isn't the best way to "show" your build, the water weight is high, the gut sticks out, unless you crank on the belt, like most of the narrssicists do.
My rib cage has expanded, shoulders wider, lats wider, biceps/triceps are larger, and with tightening up the mid-section you can see the V I'm getting.
High rep squats = rib cage expansion, pressing the bar (instead of using a rack) helps the shoulder width.
I know there are some who will never say "dude, you are changing" fuk 'em!!!

Did some sets of 3 with 265 yesterday. Most awkward part was getting it off the rack. No problems, just doesn't feel quite right. I recall not having to think about it last year.
Once again a foot slipped. Never thought about my feet while bench pressing before. Need to decide what to do.
In a few weeks I'll switch back to just doing the little dumbbells at Planet Fitness and forget about barbell bench again until next summer.

What's up AJ? I appreciate it! I haven't played ball in about 6 years, believe it or not. My sciatica and jumpers knee stopped cooperating and I saw a few too many friends my age fall to pretty serious injuries (ACL, dislocated ankle and shoulder, ruptured Achilles, etc...). It was time for me to hang it up. Up until a few months ago, I was doing 4-5 miles of cardio a day, mostly walking. I need to get back to that!

Keep doing 30 rep squats and you will be a man of steel!
We could be virtual training partners here.
I still owe you a squat, but here is 240 x 32 Deads double overhand grip, no straps.
Since I'm using a thin bar, you can use mixed grip
All in fun man.
This was the first time I did these holding the bar for reps, usually I regrip every rep which is torture because you can't go as fast, this took like minute. I should've did 35

Medical procedure went well... and still feeling pretty good so was able to do some higher-rep lower weight conventional deads yesterday.
Didn't record those, but let's see if I can link a pic of my bicep pump from Wednesday (well, not sure but I can link it at least to these forums).
Happy weekend all!

All right - nice to be back in action! As usual, deload week (since I have no choice anyway due to the medical stuff) did me good!
Usually my Sunday workout is pretty light but since I had a week off I did a little more than usual, with several sets of 8 at 248 - which felt pretty good.
Happy Monday all!

Getting back into the swing of things. Last cycle was my best squat cycle ever; this one has been a bit more of a struggle. Hanging in there though! 18 total reps at 425 isn't bad... I dropped about 10lbs with the medical stuff and I'm not getting it back, but I stopped my bulk about two weeks ago. I think I'll stick with calorie neutral for another month and then decide where to go from there.
I'm finally getting the hang of sissy ('Matrix') squats which are excellent.

Hey all, I haven't seen BH in a bit - is everything ok with him?
Last night worked on block presses to get me over the hump on rep six at heavier weight. The clip is my first set - the next two set were better/smoother. Worked on maintaining my tension and leg drive to the last rep. Felt good to knock them out.

Great work PHD. You are almost holding down the fort on your own! Love to see it. Would come and cheer you on all day long at next comp.
All is same here. Just the grind. Friday is always Pizza night in our house so had to earn it tonight in the gym with my 'bro' workout. Shoulders and arms. I dont count reps or sets. I just pick a bunch of stuff up and put it down at random intervals.
There really are sometimes I wonder what in the hell I am still doing.... but then I have a night in the gym like tonight and I dont think I am all that bad. Actually pretty happy with where I am.
