    Wish I could be posting PR smashes and awesome lifts like @Phd, but cant push like that these days.

    However today I SMASHED my legs in the gym. Tons of sub maximal work. Rest pause, giant sets etc. Normally my leg flatten out with this much pump in them (which they did to some point), but my skin is thinning out to where I am starting to have that more defined look.

    Skin folds are really getting down there. Just going to keep going! I cant wait to start getting some tan and I think I will really start to look a little more defined.

    Might try a small water drop in a few weeks and see what I look like.

    Well since it is getting hot inside the garage, I'm squatting heavier for set of 10. I haven't squatted this heavy in the garage yet. This is around my BW, don't let these smaller plates fool you, it's heavier than it looks, great form too, this is how to squat.

    Yesterday went to my coach's place and worked out with pound plates - was fun to workout with a couple other monsters.
    Worked on my slack pull and it's finally starting to feel really good!

    Tried out my new smart dumbbells tonight, did

    3 sets flat 80lbs 10x each

    3 sets incline 70 10x each

    3 sets side lateral raises 25lbs 12x each

    2 sets lying dumbbell tricep extension superset with extension to the chest.

    3 sets two arm overhead extensions 60lbs 10x each

    Those dumbbells are big. Do you use that ROM because of your shoulder issue and if so, do those band exercises I linked to previously. You just might be amazed at the improvement.

    Not sure if it is the angle of the video but thats full ROM, (ill do another video sideways where you can see the full ROM) however due to the surgery I have to keep my elbows a little more tucked in than I normally would as it reduces the pain. I have been reading up on the libk you sent me.

    Okay, I watched it again in full screen on YouTube. Your upper arms sometimes barely go beyond horizontal to the floor and mostly they don't. To me it looks like the same ROM as floor presses. Full ROM in my books is when the elbows are pointed at the floor and the bells are by your sides.

    Definitely going to have to disagree with what you deem a full ROM, if it works for you thats good. I never (even when my shoulder was good) do DB presses' like that.

    No, thats why I am not sure what you mean becuase my elbows past my body, I think the angle of the video makes it look like it doesn't. In floor presses your triceps is in parallel with your shoulder, chest, back becuase the floor doesn't allow your elbows to go further down, however my elbows pass my body.

    Next time I do bench I will video from the side.

    First off, remember that I asked about the ROM in relation to your shoulder problem. Looked again... slowed it down AND your elbows come slightly past the back of your body, which is basically just a little more than where they'd go in floor presses. You wouldn't be able to use as much weight in full ROM chest presses, though, but I tend to think that would be better for the sarcoplasmic hypertrophy you seek.

    Perfect technique. I'm guessing you didn't record the walking lunges, because of all the grimacing. Great exercise, but nasty.

    Yesterday was another great squat day. Really toasted myself with 24 reps over 400, then a bunch of backdowns. (by the way, 407 was my first meet squat... doing 4x6 at that weight now)

    LOL always relative... I'm old compared to most powerlifters and bodybuilders out there. Not that I'm trying to put any real content out there (I actually would like to perhaps have content that helps/encourages others in their health journey at some point but really I just post my training log in video form) - approximately 10% of viewers are over 50. The rest are younguns. You are older than me - both of us are as young as we act, and hopefully inspires some of those younger than us!
    I do want to show younger lifters that self-discipline and training can keep one healthy as long as one is still breathing!

    backdowns were 3x8 @ 315 with pauses.
    Powerlifting is usually in rep ranges around 3-6 per set, but my coach has me in an extended hypertrophy phase - trying to build muscle mass, then train for strength.
    My next comp isn't until November, so I'm trying to hit 220-225 with as much muscle as I can, then try to hit new PRs across the board.
    Someday I'll try to be pretty enough to be on the big screen!
