Nice. I did 24 and probably had a few more in the tank had I had a spotter about 5 years ago (at a heavier body weight than now obviously).

Good stuff! That's what I'm shooting for!
My workout partner is a beast (you can see him as my spotter in a bunch of my videos): he has hit 50 reps which is inspiring (he's in his early 30s) - but yeah, 25 sounds like a nice round number for a 50yo

Got in a lil workout with my son and his gf last night - some light bench work, accessories, and some pull up sets.
Video here for some variety from my big 3 - and my son was suitably impressed

Why you have both hands in your back if you are grilling? Either way back looks thick

Never tried to video my lifts before, I'll have to see if I can make that work. Just finishing up a low volume re-sensitization phase, doing maxes this week (9.5 RPE / Technical Breakdown as the cutoff since I'm not a powerlifter). I am by no means strong, but made some nice PRs for me this morning:

Bench press 235x1 I hit 225x3 a couple of years ago but then hurt my shoulder, had to change my entire technique and learn better programming before working my way back up. It was a long road but I feel like I'm finally fully recovered.

Bent row 235x1 I've done more as a Pendlay row in the past, but for a stricter controlled row to the stomach that's a new record. Tried 240 but form started to break down.

Face Pull 95x1 Cautiously worked up to this just for amusement since I was doing maxes, everything felt good though so I just kept adding 2.5lb at a time.

Squat 325x1 I've never been a strong squatter but my prior record was 298x3 and it felt good to finally be hitting above three plates. Considering I have to be careful of an old back injury I'm pretty darn happy with how solid it felt.

Deadlifting tomorrow, hoping to hit five plates for the first time.

I spent a ton of time watching lifting videos during quarantine and I think my programming has really improved. Less injuries, more muscle gains and better strength gains. I watch a bunch of folks but I think RP has to get the most credit, I really like how they explain the why of things and not just the what, matches my engineering mindset.

Had a really hard time posting this, kept getting error messages. Finally posted one part at a time until I figured out which sections it didn't like. No reason that I can tell.

Squat day - first one in my garage gym since I usually lift at my buddy's place. Also first real use of the calibrated kilo plates. Math is hard, but we got it done!
Did 5 singles at 407 - first over 400 since bombing squats on my meet. Was hot in my garage and didn't feel as easy as it should have, but feels good to be lifting some 'real' weight again. Afterwards did a bunch more squat work including the 3x4 narrow pin squats in the vid. Every day lifting in a good day!

Ok, as promised I figured out how to video just for this thread. Don't expect amazing production quality, this is just from my phone and the stand was a plastic clamp from the toolbox that seemed to do a decent job of holding it at the right angle. First attempt at 495 went great, but the darn phone didn't record it properly! I was feeling good so I said heck with it, put five more pounds on the bar and did it again:

I actually think I had more in me, maybe 10-20lbs but I was already hyped up for hitting 500lbs and it didn't seem worth spoiling it by going too far and tweaking my back just to show off.

That's on purpose, it's a good psychological trick if you want to get amped up. Getting amped causes extra fatigue but that's irrelevant this week since volume is so low.

    Nice! Repped!

I deadlifted for the first time in maybe a year today and got 365 which I was happy with. What made me even happier was a kid watching me had to beat me and pulled 375 which was his PR, took him 2 attempts but the scrawny Bastard did it!
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Nice to see all those still hitting it.

Me too....Same old sh!t. 4 days/week. I have tried to bring back squatting and successfully did some rep outs no-handed w/ 225 and did not spasam my back out. Slow and steady though. Nothing crazy here.

Just getting skinny. Doing more fasting these days beyond IF which I have done for 3+ years. Now I bring a few days in where I only eat one meal. Just find it is an easy way to diet. Not getting too technical, but I am having no trouble leaning out. I am still not super lean, but not 1/2 bad for summer.

Keep it up everyone. Nothing much new for me to post...but just doing what I do!

Pretty judgemental post considering you have no idea why Wayne isn't lifting any longer. We are an aging population, the majority of us will be faced with that decision at some point in the furure, I am fairly confident you won't be pressing dumbells in the hearse on your way to the dirt nap.

As far as the "pussy" comment goes, Wayne is a marine, that word will never be associated with that man, not something I would expect you to understand.

    Yep....on all the above.

As in life...I don't need to prove anything to anyone.
Besides, I have my music/recording interest that I'm still able to do (for the most part) at 74 years old.

I was quite surprised by Bando's 'judgmental', elitist response which is one I would only expect from the regular misc.

No big deal....no hard feelings...people can say anything they want.

Back to topic....BH....my post was NOT to create a thread hijack.

I just edited my previous response...."I did not mean to create a thread hijack'.

    OK....
I mentioned it before some time ago.

Due to wear/tear I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis about 2012 or so.
Now, being as how spinal stenosis a degenerative ailment, I can only walk with a cane, I can't stand up for more that 7-8 minutes because both of my legs go to sleep and I can't feel either of them.
Lifting even the slightest amount of weight that puts any pressure on my spine/vertebrae puts my legs to sleep.
By 2015 or so I gave all my equipment to a relative.

So....I already "hobble around" and when I say "I can't lift anymore" that's exactly what I mean and should not be presumed to mean "I won't lift anymore".
It's not 'mental' at all as Bando thought was appropriate to infer.
I have other interests that are equally, if not more so, personally rewarding.

I've had a couple of cool falls though....nothing my wife has seen yet.
My shoulders and fingers wreak with arthritic pain.
Even playing my acoustic guitar my right arm goes to sleep.

    Well....that's about a wrap.
As I stated....I didn't expect your thread to derail.

    Back to it....

(EDIT: I've never been snarky to or disrespected anyone on any public forum....I don't find it difficult to behave in that manner)

Nice lift!, definitely made it look easy. Thanks for the inspiring post!
Please record my time/reps if I pass out

Thanks for the response, sorry to hear about your ailment, but your health is more important.

    No prob.

Sometimes one has to move on for reasons out of their control.
Recognizing when one must "move on" is just clear thinking for the reason you mention.

Getting the hang of this, here are two more videos:

Bench was shaky but successful, 240 was prettier. Pullup was solid, maybe had more strength but that was as close to my limit as I was comfortable with.

Agree, the reaper comes for us all - keep livin life the best you can!
I think Bando made a 'typical' response that we sometimes make to complainers who come into the forum whining about struggling to lift - missed the part about Wayne's specifics.
We might approve of the general idea of a kick in the pants to a newb, but as long as Wayne is doing all he can then it's all good!
