    No vids to post - yesterday was volume machine upper. It was good, I’m feeling it. Today was legs. Squats felt good work sets were 3x5@365 got 5,5,4 then a back off with 315. Deads worked up to 405x4 then did 315x8. I’ve not been working deads as hard. Always after squats and not really trying to kill my self on them. Feeling good, still fatter than I’d like but I have a vacation planned now so going to get more serious on dieting.

    It sucks doesn't it... I got down sub 180 lean AF and figured I could easily maintain in the lower 190s which is where I "should" probably be year round (I feel good at that weight, have abs, veins etc.) It seems the weight just slowly creeps back on, if I am not on a very strict intake plan. I have been dieting since the beginning of the year but not making much progress because I am strict most of the week but don't pay much attention on the weekends. Plus my activity level is still lower than usual since I have not been doing any cardio. I need to start getting some walks bike rides and stuff in now that it is warming up.

    I've done this many times, but want form check as it's changed, anyone can chime in but Mr. Supra, what you think? It feels smoother, I still have scabs on the legs, but haven't bleed in weeks, looks I'll have to change my youtube name!

    Last nights workout was OK, took a break from the heavy stuff and did sets of 15 reps on the leg press, hacksquats, leg curls

    No videos as no increase in any weight.

    I critique/study sumo much more than conventional - and I personally take form feedback with a grain of salt since it is obvious that what works for one may not work for another depending on their biomechanics.
    That said, supra's feedback has focused on you not squatting your lift, and it does seem you are doing more of a hip joint movement incorporating your back more. You can probably still sit back more to utilize that leverage even more, but you will reach a limit on that balancewise.
    I'm also interested in how wide your arms are - seems you could bring them in a bit, not hit your legs, and reduce arm load (usually conventional lifters try to hang their arms as straight down as they can and visualize their arms as 'cables' rather than rowing the weight).
    You lift pretty slow. That does work for some. For many, a more explosive movement works well. If you look at my recent DLs vs a few months ago I've been working to get that 'snap' as I bring my hips in to accelerate my lift. I'm no paragon of form - just commenting on speed/explosiveness which I'm working on.

    Otherwise it does seem quite smooth compared to other lifts at a similar weight for you. Keep at it!

    A after watching I noticed the same with my arm width, my stance is more narrow so I did take note to take a closer grip.

    I feel it in my butt mostly but yeah I may be able to move in a tad closer.

    Would like to see from the side, but your WAY out of coordination of the movement. Your legs are moving too fast and your back is lagging and getting overloaded in the process.

    Secondarily, I would suggest a shoulder width grip. Your grip is taking your weak point of the movement and putting more stress on it. (wider arms means you are bent over further on the start) Almost like a deficit dead.

    Take some good vid from side. Best I it is a back 1/4 view where plates are not obscuring your feet. Hard to see actual weight transfer from this angle, but I would drop weight are reset. Every set you do like this a bad habit you will have to break.

    LOL, Yeah hopefully I'll get back what I had and while normally I am not OK with just getting back to where I was at this stage of my life I think I will take it. I just hope I can sustain my build for several more years before I start to decline.

    Thanks man, truly appreciate it. The fire is still there maybe even more so now than ever, but at 56 the body just doesn't respond as quickly as it used to, something that humbles you with reality.

    I dig brother, but we've got broader perspective and experience now which makes up for what we think we're lacking. Add to that, you ideally arrive at a point in life when you're doing it for you and not in pursuit of external validation. IMHO, that's the best time in life cuz you know who you are and realize you don't need to waste time and energy trying to impress others.

    All this to say that while the goal line may have moved or whatever, you know what you're doing and doing what you love.

    On a side note, I've got a lot of inspiration from this thread over the last year for which I am grateful to those like you who share their training journey. I'm also grateful to be back lifting, despite being far from the top of my game. That will come in time. Meanwhile, I'm loving the grind - my grind; so its all good.

    True that. Glad to see you are able to get back to training. Sounded like a helluva injury. I just got our bikes ready for the summer, but we usually stick to trails. I hate being on my bike on the road, feel much safer on my motorcycle on two wheels, yet everyone acts like that is super dangerous. People just don’t see you on a bike at all. I know you’ll be clawing right back to peak fitness in no-time.

    Happy Monday!
    I always reach the point with the chin hairs when they start to become unruly that I just can't tolerate it and trim away - almost to that point now!
    Started my workout diary in the PL section, so will focus on just the workout vids here.

    Friday was a SBD day, but posting my DL here - was after squats and my coach wanted to keep the weight down a bit, so did a bunch of reps at 425/435.
    Good stuff though.
    After this one was taken, worked on lifting sooner. Coach feels my setup is fine, but concerned the longer I spend gripping the bar before initiating the lift i lose core tightness and energy. Did a couple more reps where I went down, got my grip, took out slack, then started the lift in 1-2 sec. Will work on that and see if it helps.

    Got the 50lbs for 6 reps, no video as it is boring lol.

    Also did pull-ups, Bent Over rows, no deadlifts back was too tight, and seated dumbbell curls..

    Yesterday was squats - actually pretty heavy but didn't get any video. Posting the actual workout on my journal now...
    Changed the layout of the basement gym and it seems an improvement - should be able to see some of it on the next video.

    Very pleased with tonight workouts, got to 9 plates per side for 4 reps, could have gone a little deeper, but taking it slow. Went up to 9 plates then back down to 1, pretty fcking intense
