Taken this morning, legs haven't went down just yet considering I haven't done anything for them in a month. Chiropractor said I can start squatting and deadlifting by February but to go very light and work my way up slowly. I am in no rush..

Noice! Glad to hear you are making progress too!
Yesterday DL day - deficits! Ouch on the low back really locked up but no injury.
4x4 deficit deads @ 365, video from the 3rd set.
still can see there are times my hips are locking out a little early. want to get more/earlier glute activation and stay a little more upright.
3x10 Romanian DL @205
3x12 curl downs
3x12 flys

That sounds better for recovery. Deadlifts just seem to have a huge effect on my strength for a few days.
It doesn't help that I'm all over the place with my workouts though. Mostly to work around the hip injury. I logged in just to make up a plan for my leg day tomorrow that will not involve full squats. Thinking about bench squats and split squats for higher reps.
Looking big. You've done no legs at all?Last edited by ezra76; 01-08-2021 at 10:12 AM.

Squat 245 x 21, this is uncomfortable, but it's kinda like "taken it easy", was still feeling some pain, but feeling better. Next week I need to go 255. No hangover, but I was 20 minutes late the gym, which sucks.
Supra, here is a light weight old style press to see how it looks like a push press, but it's not. I lean back and then press, which is why they dropped it from the olyimpics.
This is 170 and I fuked up and did push press it-
This is 175, I did not dip, it looks like it, but I didn't, I leaned back and pressed at the same time-

They are bumpers which means yes you drop them. They aren’t like the those in your gym, those bumpers are so fuked up from the color coding to the way they impact. Did you see how high they bounced? He’s got others that don’t bounce at all and they are black. The ones I was using are in lbs not kgs, usually red = 55#. I don’t know where he got them plates, probially got a deal on them. The 35’s are blue (kg blues are 45s).

Well yeah maybe, he don't got real lifting platforms like your gym, it's all thick mats. If you notice my shoes, those are not real good shoes for Olympic lifting but they are better than any other regular shoe. When I do a clean I love that sound, it's like I'm truly lifting on a real wooden platform.
And since Supra likes the "clean" form, that's even better, because, well most folks need an elevated heel.

Little ugly but got it up. Need this for some motivation. Hip finally starting to feel better. I'm gonna work with 315 for reps for the next 3-4 weeks before attempting another single.
Guess I'm just gonna go with fat powerlifter status for a couple months.

Checking in. Getting back into the zone. Keto diet is going really well, forgot why I ever stopped eating this way (basically low carb veg, meat, avocados, nuts seeds etc). Training in the afternoons so using IF a little too. Basically eating 2 meals / day noon and 6. Can get by on pretty low cals w/out much issue. Training is going well back in the gym 5 days/week upper/lower split with cardio on lower days and Wednesdays. Did Deads after squats on Thursday for the first time in a long time. Only went to 315x5 but nice easy controlled reps. Probably going to tread lightly on them for awhile. Everything is coming back quick on lifts. Vids are frowned upon in the gym, so none lately.
It’s been a $hit show since the November COVID mitigation’s basically make it more crowded. They have reduced hours, 15 minute breaks between each scheduled time slot- everyone waits in-line in a dead end hallway to wait for them to open the doors lol probably the worst possible thing you could do to prevent a respiratory disease but oh well. Have found that surgical masks are by far the best for training. I can bend the nose wire and get some nice breathing gaps.

It sucks man, but at least you are still going...
Tonight's workout, my sons is creeping up on the 315lbs (up to 295lbs) squat had to help him adjust a little on keeping his back straight on his last set, he was leaning forward a little.
I added squats and bent over rows back into my training but am wearing a belt, will add 5lbs per workout on the squats and deadlifts to slowly let my back get used to the load.

Good to hear, PP! My plan was to start taking cals back with diet (low carb and IF) on 2/1, but I am really getting antsy to start before that. All my lifts are up quite a bit from the summer due to higher cals and body weight. That part is nice, but overall sluggishness gets old (though I have maintained my cardio of skipping rope, walking, and running this whole time).

Thought the tingling in my legs would be bad this morning as I did squats and BOR last night, but nothing, slight pain when I first got up but nothing NOTHING the way it was just a couple of months ago. A couple a months ago I couldn't tolerate it, so forward progress all around, feeling great!

Way to keep at it!
Great to hear!
Enjoyed the updated videos too!
Yesterday's squat session felt GREAT!
3x4 1 sec pause @ 325 - increase of 20lb from last week
3x4 1 1/4 @ 345 - jumped 50lb from last week (1 less rep)
3x8 RDL @225, superset with pull ups (21 total)
knee raises/bicep curls
Feels like tweaking my program 3 weeks ago combined with going back to calorie neutral is really paying off in feeling stronger!
Feeling lucky and grateful to have a coach/workout partner and equipment to use.Last edited by PhDPepper1111; 01-12-2021 at 08:32 AM.
