I don't think the covid test would mix cold with covid, but the issue has likely been:

-false positives
-people with sniffles/cold getting tested and are positive because they have covid antibodies from a past infection

But we all know how much the news stands to gain from panic virus, so I don't buy their daily case number fearmongering at all.

A large portion of tests are still false positives. You go to the doctor/hospital with the flu they will test you for covid. You might have the flu but if you test positive for covid as well they sure as fook are going to count it as a covid case. Even without retesting to confirm its a legitimate covid case.


I personally know 6 people that tested positive for covid that had 0 symptoms. (Tested through their work). They retested 3-5 days later and came back negative.

The test does not test for the virus, it tests for dna fragments.

It's also only 99% accurate with a 1% false positive rate, so the majority of tests will return false positive.
