Contract for the right to buy 100 shares per contract at a certain price. high risk, but high reward if you time it right. Made 5k on my first ever option move through NFLX in one day.. Proceeded to slowly bleed that out into other options which turned into losing almost all profits.
Long term accumulation, and dividend reinvesting is the only way to go for beginners IMO... Any fool out there could have made millions after March 20th, 2020. I only made a measly 115k. Could have made multi millions in hindsight if I put it in more than I was comfortable with. Very happy I pulled out, don't know how much I'm going to owe the tax man now.
I'll be the only one to admit that I have absolutely no idea how crypto works, how it's backed, and what it's based off. Almost none of it makes sense at all. Zilch. I'm just lucky to be up in crypto due to a one day purchase $10k worth of random coins which I have forgotten about until recently. Besides that the coinbase fees are the biggest rip off.
