Saw the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly last night for the first time

It was a good one, didn’t even feel like 3 hours long.
Any other good American western movie recommendations of the same quality?

It is one of the all time greats so "same quality" is going to be tough.

But A Fistful of Dollars is up there, as is Outlaw Josey Wales.

Personally, my two favorite westerns are Open Range and Lonesome Dove.

I'm a big Eastwood fan so Pale Rider, The Outlaw Josey Wales and Hang 'Em High are up there too. One of my favorite movies of all time is Unforgiven

Almost all the Eastwood's I'd recommend. Fist full of dollars is one of my favorites. Spent a lot of my childhood watching Eastwood and John Wayne.

Try watching the show Justified too. Timothy Olyphants character in it reminds me a lot of Clint Eastwoods in the spaghetti westerns.

Also if you read, Stephen King's The Dark Tower series main character is based off of Clint Eastwood in The good the bad and the ugly. One of the greatest book series ever.

Same here. I remember I got goose bumps when the duel scene ended they started singing the first time I saw it. The whole movie, to me, was about right and wrong and decisions we make and their consequences, seen and unseen. There was one exception, the travelling performer vignette, which was just sad. That one was different than the rest.

This is the greatest western movie ive ever seen, and I have seen a lot. Absolutely magnificent. it's like a dream almost. Highly recommend.

Seen in more times than I can remember, but there's one segment that makes the film drag on that I have to fast forward through now. It's the whole bridge blowup scene. Completely irrelevant to the plot and should have been left on the cutting room floor. Other than that, basically a perfect movie.
