Why do I keep getting fungus on my upper chest and back?

I shower every day and change shirts and keep clean but I keep growing fungus. If it wasn't for the cream my whole body would be covered with it.

Tinea versicolor. Go see a doc and get rx antifungals, the otc stuff likely won’t help much.

Get a dehumidifier. Clean your house with water+bleach mixture, clean all the walls and every area where (black) mold might grow.
Then keep the relative humidity under 50%
Mold is really bad for your health and hair.

Plain white vinegar is better for porous surfaces and bleach for non-porous FYI.

Black mold on ceiling of bathroom, spray with white vinegar wipe off and spray with white vinegar again and you won't have regrowth for 3+ months. Bleach lasts max a month.

I don't know which one is more effective in killing mold. But once the mold is killed, the duration for new mold to grow has nothing to do whether you used bleach or vinegar.
The vinegar isn't going to create a barrier for months on the surface of a wall or window.
Humidity and mold spores which are everywhere, is what causes mold to spread. Keep humidity under 50% and they won't be able to grow.

Ignore those guys above, some bacteria chooses to manifest visibly on some people. It's not generally known why but should be generally be treatable.

Chest and back is often half allergic reaction and half yeast type fungi. Not sure in the states but over here I had to get a prescription for a cortisteroid body wash that's pretty brutal on your organs. You use it for 3 days, wait a week and do it again then again at 4 weeks and 3 months. I also had to take antihistamines every day.

By the third wash I stopped getting it. The pigment loss doesn't go away unfortunately although I'm lucky that it's only on the inside of my elbows.

Just eat boiled spinach with olive oil on it everyday for a couple weeks. Cured mine.

Use anti-dandruff shampoo on it (go buy $3 cheap stuff from woolworths, lather it all over body and wait a few min before washing off). After shower apply cream (if you have been using same cream for the entire time switch to another, just get a generic e.g. using clotrimazole switch to terbinafine) If not gone after 2 weeks go see a gp.



OPs photo is clearly a fungal infection, not a bacterial infection. If you have a problem with bacteria imbalance on the skin have twice weekly bleach baths as is recommended for severe eczema and decolonising golden staph from their skin.

Mate I literally had the same thing as op. I just finished this medication recently. Go see a doctor for that wash.

Mold is in the atmosphere, if mold has grown in a room it is likely to grow in the room again. Changing the pH of where the mold is growing will prevent it taking over again.

E.g. you live in an old apartment with no exhaust fan in bathroom, you live in tropical/sub-tropical environment where daily humidity is >50% no matter what you do.

Applying vinegar on a wall is not going to lower the PH for 3 months and prevent new mold from growing.

If you keep the windows closed and have a good dehumidifier running, you can definitely get it below 50% relative humidity.
The best way to keep mold under control, is to keep a humidity low enough that prevents mold from growing.

I get a few spots of this once or twice a year. Go to the chemist and buy Selsum Yellow anti dandruff shampoo, and rub it into the spots for a few minutes, then wash it off. Clears it right up within a few days.

Spread a generous amount on the affected spots, let it sit for 20 minute and then rinse off in the shower.

A few treatments and it will disappear.

Only thing is you gotta keep an eye on it or it will come back as soon as it gets hot and humid again.
