I would say they're better than places like Micky D's and Burger King at least, but it seems like they get overrated.

6/10 for the price.
Their burgers are not worth $10 srs, for that price I would expect a way more flavorful patty and melted cheese. They don't even melt the darn cheese.
8/10 milkshakes. 10/10 fries.
Overall 7/10.
I'd rather go to an upscale burger restaurant like Tipsy Cow if I'm spending upwards of $10 for a burger.Cash Rules Everything Around Me

never heard of tipsy cow, but 6/10 for the price when look at shake shack u get an appetizer size burger for 10 bucks, 5 dollar small ass milkshake, and almost no fries
i admit the shake shack burger is better, but if five guys is 6/10 for the price then shake shack is 3/10 for the pricePositive vibes crew

Just a cheeseburger with all of the toppings is $10 at five guys. It's a sizeable burger but it's super greasy, they always overcook the patty (dry af) and they don't melt the ****ing cheese. If they would just leave some of the juices in the patty it would elevate the whole burger to 8.5/10.

They are close to being a homemade type of burger so they are good.
However, I do not get the outrageous calories in the food.
A small fry is a 1,000 calories and a potato had about as many calories are an apple. A large potato is about 150 and so where does 900 cals some from?
I know how to cook and if you fry things correctly the outside gets crispy almost instantly and the inside of the food is protected from being saturated from oil. So, I do not understand what is happening.
Their burgers are super high calorie too and grand beef doesn't have huge calories. Some places will up the fat content for flavor but even so, they seem very high.
The fries mindboggle me though. If you want to ask me a question:

I love Five Guys, but 10 bucks for a burger is pushing it, but the quality is there. I go there often, and sometimes choose it over a Whataburger patty melt. You could argue that it's not as good as Shake Shack, and the low cost of In-N-Out might make you reconsider your options, but it's a pretty tasty burger. The cajun fries blow most burger joints fries out of the water. Only competition is maybe McDondalds fries when they're piping hot fresh out of the deep fryer. But McDonalds severely skimps on the fries, whereas Five Guys gives you a whole BAG of fries lol. Overall, 8/10 burger, 9/10 fries.

I like In N Out better for 1/2 the price. However, I think it's #2 on my fast food list. Their hot dogs are actually great.
