    Leg press feet angle

    Hi!

I have a little question, didn't found answer elsewhere. I know that placing feet narrow on leg press machine you target outer quads more when performing this exercise, if you place feet wide you target inner quads more.
But is there a proper angle of feet when performing leg press/single-leg leg press? Should I keep my feet pointed straight or maybe I should place my feet at 45 degree angle same as when performing squats? Which option is safer for knees and does it matter at all?

    Thank you

    Doesn't matter.

Take a stance you can use with a good rom at the knee and hip, that feels good for you.

    A “proper angle”? No.

Do what you feel works your quads better. I wouldn’t worry about targeting different parts of the quads unless you’re an intermediate or advanced bodybuilder (mostly because you can’t target, only emphasize)

what was said above. BG - on spread. Tall brotha - concentrate on ROM and intensity, emphasize higher rep range and voila! you will have inner and outer quads employed. Higher reps have this interesting quality, reaching failure gradually allowing more muscles get involved. Try squatting way down till you hit stops, not easy and you will have to get back to one plate till you adapt. This deep squatting is actually the best for knee health, something I learned recently.
