Is it beneficial to perform a water cut (identical to one for a bodybuilding/powerlifting show) for a beach party? Or will the visual results be not be apparent to the untrained eye? Do bodybuilders perform water cuts for qualifying for their weight class and looking leaner, or only the former?

For bodybuilding shows I start reducing water 5 days out, 2 days out just ice tea/coffee 24-32oz I’m around 12% bf on stage. There’s other ways to pull water I’ve done but ya
For power lifting meets I will only ever cut water if I’m scared about not making weight. You weigh in the first thing the morning the day before the meet. I will start cutting water completely the day before that and use water pills. This is bad. Immediately after weigh in I carb load, electorate drink chug and take a nap. I’ve only had to do this once and it was bad. Came in under weight (never trust a hotel scale) My lifts still suffered even though I placed I would have a record deadlift but I hitched on my third pull
For a party just no just no and who is partying? It’s covid m8 parties don’t existLast edited by snailsrus; 12-01-2020 at 01:36 AM.

It does tend to be according to the individual.
I know that many black people, for instance, tend to retain a helluva lotta water than most folks.
So it really does depend - sweating out excess water (if you are particularly prone to excess water retention like black folk) will definitely make you look leaner (and your face less bloated looking).Battlefield 8 fan
