Not quite the same. "Working out" is something you do to pass the time. You have nothing invested in a specific outcome, and no plan to identify and achieve goals. "Training" is considerably more structured and result-oriented. It's like the difference between having a job, and having a career.

“Working out” is synonymous with “exercising.” That’s where people just go in and do what feels good without a plan, usually because they just think it’s something they should be doing to burn calories or because it feels good.

Those other words indicate a plan of progression.
