The latest one. Gorgeous fooking game but
- Combat is so dull and simplistic
- One kill animation per enemy type got old fast because...
- Little enemy variety
- No epic boss fights after 5 hours in (wtf?)
- Convoluted as fukk story. (When the Witch started explaining world travel chit i was likr wtf r u talking about)
- Convoluted rpg mechanics that are needless for a game like this
- Lore is way less interrsting than greek mythology
I hope it gets better but man Im bummed after being so hyped for it

Only thing I can agree with you on are enemy variety and boss fights. The story was awesome imo. You're still early in it though. Report back after completion.

Lol what? I'm a simple dude and the story was easy as fuk to follow .... Are you playing on easy? Also lol at saying no epic boss fights 5 hours in when you've already done the initial stranger fight, and most probably the dragon boss battle.
But yes, OP I can see the issues you're having esp if you love the previous god of wars ..... Huge, spectacle boss battles wasnt present for the new series, at least not in the frequency of the older titles, but when it does boss fights, like the stranger / dragon, they were absolutely amazing and just as on par with the previous games. Enemie varieties were lacking and every single mini-bosses were just stupid trolls that got old quick.
RPG systems could have used some more tweaking, but it was servicable.
But lol at saying the story/lore was convoluted .... It does an amazing job with Kratos, his son, and fleshing out all the players in the current game and the overall lore, I'm guessing you were either not just paying any attention or just beelining the entire main story/fast travelling .... There's so many moments when you're just exploring that Mimir, Kratos and the entire party comments on random stuff .... far more fleshed out and explained compared to the previous games. The level design, art was top notch.
It wasnt a perfect game, but it did so many things right and brought back a sense of wonder and awe and left you wanting more ..... Just fukkin lol at writing off the game of the generation..... No other Console/PC game comes as close to the masterpiece that is GOW.Sig line can't be a novel

Agree on enemy variety and could have used more boss fights. But I still think it was really fun. I will also say I agree with the half assed RPG **** that literally every game does now.
I’d say prob my second favorite PS4 exclusive behind Bloodborne. (Haven’t played Ghosts yet but I’m excited to in 60fps on the ps5.)SCC - Redskins - Wizards

What in my post points to FPS? If anything, it's underwhelming because I loved the original trilogy so much.
Hmmmm. I have not reached a dragon but sounds intriguing. I've just entered the dimension with the flying *******s.
I'm not on easy. The combat is challenging, it's just not very fun. The trilogy had a very impressive looking combat with the blades flying around fluidly, looking cool, feeling satisfying with that final snap of a combo. Here, there are two types of swings, one of which just bounces enemies from the ground like they're rubber. Maybe I need to unlock moves or something. Right now, it feels like someone wanted to make a Souls combat system but changed his mind halfway through.
The story hopefully gets better. I just got turned off by the sudden shift in direction when you reach that black smoke. One moment you are going up a mountain on a personal quest, then you encounter some black smoke and to pass it you suddenly have to travel to some alternate dimensions and do some convoluted chit. Her whole explanation of that part was like an instruction manual
brb, there is a tree of the world but this is not it and the serpent bit thor and you have to move the bridge to go to another dimension because a tower is not here and the ancient light... like wtf are you talking about sloot?
It felt more 'show, don't tell' in the original trilogy, with great mythological characters.
Granted, I'm not far enough into it to give it a final verdict. It just didn't grab me so far like the first three did from the very first second.

I truly loved this game. The brutality, the combat, the graphics and level design (grandiose, especially with some endless dungeons like Muspelheim and Niflheim).
Tho there are some things i would have liked to see differently:
- No Jump.. i mean what? C'mon the old god of wars had jumping and it gives way to platforming. I mean look at Nier Automata, so much more combat and platforming potential
- Boss fights too few (and kinda underwhelming)
- Too similar sub-bosses, missed opportunity here
- Some game mechanics (the crystal puzzles)
Other than that, everything in this game was of epic proportions, 9/10 for sure for me

There are no FPS with good stories? k..
That's another thing. Brb, have to run around obstacles that are less than a foot high. Sometimes, no obstacles because invisible walls will prevent you from jumping off a ledge here but not a few inches from here. In this day and age?
I'm seriously hoping it will improve but not impressed so far.

Agree. I played it to completion but wasn't Wow'd by it. When it ended it didn't fill me with a feeling, nom sayin?
Pacing was all over the place, combat didn't feel tight and satisfying, I like the feeling of weapons CONNECTING but I didn't get that feeling. The skill trees didn't feel satisfying either. The enemy variety was ABYSMAL lmfao most things were just re-skins. Barely any boss fights. Lots of corridor to corridor, maze to maze, cave to cave type of play. It was so linear and didn't feel as varied as I'd have liked.
I tried to replay it a few months ago after a couple years but couldn't get into it. Meanwhile, I could play something like Horizon over and over.
So yeah I agree, it was a really good game but not great.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Agreed
Stopped playing around 6-10 hours in
Combat is boring and the RPG elements are pretty bad, cant convince myself to keep playing
God of War 1-3 were much better and badass
Pretty graphics, thats about it
Also cringe everytime they try to show off Kratos trying to get closer to his son but pulls back
such emotion
such sad
such dadFuture P.A in progress
We're all gonna make it

I've tried over and over to get into the GoW series and I've just been unable to. I really want to like those games, I can't quite place why they don't grab me, the premise is really appealing but I just lose interest after a few hours everytime I try and play one.
I thought the new one would be different, I lasted about 6 hours into it and gave up. It's just the way it is, plenty of people love the series so I get that it must be me that's wrong.
