    carbonation and calcium...

I swear I had 'known' from years back that carbonation negatively effected calcium absorption in the body... passed this info on to a friend recently who drank a lot of carbonated water. Friend said wasn't true. I told them look it up... they did... told me wasn't true... I now looked up and it appears everything I'm finding says that was a myth! Mind blown lol... anyone else have any deeper insite on this topic? Am I missing something or have I been misled all along???

Not sure why carbonation would cause that. Never heard of it before either.

Plenty of misinformation out there though, so not shocking that the claim was made.

Maybe thinking of carbonated drinks. Not the carbonation, but the phosphorous, or phosphoric acid in sodas.

Carbonation is the dissolving of carbon dioxide in a liquid. This lowers the pH of the liquid a little. It's a bit of bro science to overstate the effects this can have in your body when there are much greater sources of acidity in a typical diet (fruit, ketchup, vinegar, etc.).
I can tell time. Time cannot tell me.

Formerly LactoseTolerant. I'm not very imaginative.

Not to mention the extreme environment of stomach acid.

Hmm, i kind of vaguely remember hearing something like that. But I think it was my mom telling me that soda would rot my teeth out and make my bones turn to dust. My guess it was probably marketing propaganda by the dairy industry long ago to try to get people to drink more milk, and scare moms into making their kids switch to drink more milk.
