Haven't seen it since it was in the cinema, and the only thing it had then to hold my attention was the 3D, but that novelty wore off after about 20mins.

My gf and I just watched the series. It was good. I wish I would have watched it as a kid, since it’s aimed for kids but once you get over the childish part it’s 9/10

People might disagree but the sloot version is worth a watch. Show is completely different direction, but the message is good - it’s not the beliefs that make someone bad but how radical they are with them. Season 2 of sloot version is trash but the rest are pretty damn good - and much better villains than anything in the original Avatar

There are maybe a couple of episodes altogether that can be considered "filler", but even those are somewhat related to the plot or contain some kind of character development. None of that bs where the main plot gets put on hold for 50 episodes to inject some kind of irrelevant fanservice that could be left out without any consequences.

I really loved the original series. It was an ambitious show with a clear overarching story line from beginning to end. They created a complex and believable world for the characters to inhabit and created many likable characters with clear motivations for their actions and behaviour and often with a conflicting duality between what they are supposed to do and what they believe is right. Throw in some comedy and some badass super powers in the form of bending as well as the Avatar's unique abilities and you have what I thought was a compelling and entertaining show.

Korra on it's own is a solid show, same universe, same humour though overall it feels like a more grounded show in a world more like our own and that unfortunately isn't a good thing. Compared to the original it simply doesn't match up. It overall feels more serious and depressing, Korra's character isn't as likable as Aang and the protagonist was weak compared to Zuko and the Fire Nation in the first series.

The film is utter garbage and fails on every level. Shyamalan isn't a director of action or comedy flicks for a reason and that's explicitly shown in this movie. The action sucks, the bending looks too much like a dance mix with a magicians illusion than real magic that implies real violence and the special effects are just terrible. The humour which was such a great part of the show is completely absent, the lead actor isn't even an actor was chosen for his marital arts skills and the kid simply can't act at all. Katara is played by the daughter of a major investor in the film and again isn't particularly good though to be fair she's not got much to work with as the script and dialogue are woeful. The story telling is disjointed, their's far too much exposition, they just ripped the heart and soul out of the show.

ATLA - well thought out and planned from start to finish. Some of the best arcs on TV (Zuko). Actions by characters make sense, and each have their own pitfalls they eventually learn from. Cons are the show is pretty childish the first season, but matures as the stakes grow. Firelord is a Saturday Morning Cartoon tier villain who is one dimensional - which is a shame given the quality of everyone else.


Korra - Definitely not as whimsical as ATLA but succeeds on building the universe. Takes place in an industrial revolution counterpart and captures the dreariness well. Agree Korra isn't as likable - but do like how they make her character and flaws completely unique from Aang. She's intentionally over confident and head strong. The show is also so different from ATLA that it's mostly a new experience. And Amon, zaheer, Kuvira all trump any villain from the original series

Yeah bro I love it. Good animation, very likeable characters that go through incredible stages of growth. Entertaining, fun, innocent, and has great messages. One of my fav cartoons
