What perks are those? Biden’s using title 42 to deny all migrants claiming asylum entry, vaccinated or not.
Federal courts have not allowed asylum seekers already in the country to be expelled without a court date. Executive orders that reach too far will be restrained by court order.
Due process rights adhere to everyone in America, citizen or not. Courts don’t allow immediate deportations, or immediate sentencing of any kind, inside America. You’d have to be at the border, or someplace like Guantanamo."it's likely one of us will have to spend some days alone"

I’m not defending Biden, I ‘m just not putting all the blame on him. Our immigration system has needed a major overhaul for years. Republicans claim to prioritize immigration control, but they keep cutting budgets for those with the legal right to reject wrongful immigrant applications. Democrats made the situation arguably worse by reversing policies like Remain in Mexico or Fast-Track Deportations, that had objectively eased congestion and drastically undercut human smuggling, even if they had also caused problems.
We desperately need more judges but Dems don't want Republicans appointing conservative Title I immigration Judges who they think will toss everyone with a valid asylum claim out and Republicans don't want Dems appointing liberal Title I immigration Judges who they think will let everyone without a valid asylum claim in. Its a typical legislative cluster f*ck."it's likely one of us will have to spend some days alone"

I blame Biden 1,000%. The previous administration was getting a handle on things then Joey decided to undue everything no matter the consequences. Guys an Alzheimer's riddled moron along with 80% of Washington. Some people may want to think that patriots are these dumb hillbillies but the overall numbers are huge and they're the only thing standing in the way of this country going down the shi*ter

I’m not so sure President Trump’s administration was getting a handle on it.
President Trump Reduced Legal Immigration. He Did Not Reduce Illegal Immigration
https://www.cato.org/blog/president-...al-immigration
The population of illegal immigrants has been dropping since 2007. That is, more have left than have entered the US.
https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tan...nt-population/.
Static numbers are not a reduction, they are a failure. As is so often the case, Trump's "success" was really his failure to maintain the rate of improvement established by the previous administration.
+++Although the best way to reduce illegal immigration is to expand legal immigration"it's likely one of us will have to spend some days alone"

Is the got dam immigrant thread now. I thought we were talking vaccines in here. They are clearly working, because muthafukers are talking about immigration in here instead of the masses of bodies that were piling up in the streets before we finally got a handle on this plague with the vaccines. Thank goodnesses.

Immigration and vaccines in a way are very similar discussions. Both wedge issues that pretty much divide us. Much like this vaccine most Americans have pretty much no understanding of how immigration, legal or illegal, works or the processes by which it occurs. I include myself in this.
So they rely on exploitative politicians and political pundits to develop their opinions for them rather than trying to understand a very complicated system that they have no practical reason to engage with in their day-to-day lives.
And here we are."it's likely one of us will have to spend some days alone"

If you're the Mexican adult child of a US citizen, you'll be waiting somewhere in between 20 and 25 years for a green card. And that's if you got in line 20 years ago--people who are just getting in the line now are probably going to be waiting much longer, due to higher demand.
So for Mexicans, there generally isn't a way for most of them to come here legally in the first place. The quotas are just too low.
People will come here legally if you give them a realistic way to do that, or they'll do it illegally if you don't. In this case, we have made our choice and chose not to give most Mexicans a realistic legal path. Most of what happens after that is predictable, and stems from that choice."it's likely one of us will have to spend some days alone"

Also if you've ever stayed past your visa, you will never be able to become a citizen. Or if you ever lied being a citizen, you can never become a citizen.
Like this one guy who as a teen came here illegally and put in the job application he was a citizen..it was for dunkin donut or something..now he's an adult and married to a citizen but still can't get legal status and was deported.

Gladwell speaks about something called circular migration. He explains how, for generations, 80% of migration to the US from the south was seasonal and circular. Crossing the Rio Grande to find work is nothing like crossing the Atlantic to find a new country. Most just wanted to improve their place in life and then go home. But when we started to harden the border in the late 70’s it didn’t stop the flow...it just made crossing a lot more dangerous, thus encouraging a lot more migrants to overstay. That’s why when when many people talk about immigration reform, they are proposing a guest worker system that would allow people to come and go like they used to, creating an economic win-win. (Refugees are a different story.)"it's likely one of us will have to spend some days alone"

Nazis and immigration? I can talk about that too. So during the war the US didn't allow the Jews come in unless you had a sponsor I.e a rich relative. Also, Hitler let them leave but they couldn't take anything with them so it wasn't exactly easy.
There are situations nowadays also where people are deported to countries where they really have no way of surviving.
