Also, I'd love it if Ivermectin could be part of the solution to bad outcomes from COVID. I was hoping hydroxychloroquine would be too, although I had even more skepticism about that one panning out.
It is all tribal at this point as well as political.
I deconstructed the original study in the r and p with 6 parts and quotes, only to get zero replies.
Basically, the latin doctors made it all up, zero money, the ivermectin patients were busy covid hospital workers, and the hospital had no record of the study. There was much more but those were 3 important points, only to get zero replies.

The audience there is passionate and vocal but I guess check mate is check mate.

How much research have you done regarding the data in the infographic? I mean you must know there are infographics out there that show the exact opposite as well. I guess you have done a lot of work making sure this data is the real deal.

People get passionate about the subject. I get it. Perhaps I should have chosen my words to be less offensive to others reading. But my post was pointing out to a doctor (JustDad) that a lot of misinformation spread is happening within a set of people which may be less educated and intelligent than him, or the average doctor. I am not a doctor, I am also less educated on medicine and probably less intelligent.

This statement is 100% true. I spent 10 minutes looking around and I'm seeing the opposite of this graphic. I have no dog in the fight; just an observation. I couldn't give two shiits how much education someone has because I have a Master's Degree and it doesn't make you smarter; just more educated. More educated does not equal smarter for the most part.

WTF do you mean that shows the opposite? Do you even understand what the infographic that I posted represents?

There is NOTHING out there that disputes this study.

Calm down, mic dropper, geezus. You sound like you need a nap and a binky. I'm seeing the higher the education level, the lower the vaccine hesitancy. But like mgftp says, you can find support for just about anything you want to believe on the internet.

    C) Nice that you vetted the data source so carefully, but dig a little into the article and then tell me what it implies. The article discusses the data source. That picture agrees with their finding that about 2% of the people who responded to a facebook survey said they had a PhD, and that 0.46% of the people who responded saying they were hesitant to get a covid vaccine also said they had a PhDs (in something).
So does it actually prove that 23% of people with PhD's were hesitant to get a COVID vaccine prior to March? And if it does, in your opinion, what does that mean?

    edit:
I hadn't read the below quote before I posted, so I didn't realize you had misunderstood the implications of that paper. It was supposed to be joking, but now it seems arrogant. I apologize, but it doesn't say, imply, or demonstrate what you seem to think it does.

I so much admire that you still have the energy to dig into this stuff. I'd assume you are great at your job because of these curiosities. I don't have the energy anymore when it comes to most things Covid. Although I must admit I dug into some ivermectin meta-analysis the other day because it's a topic I haven't explored. The data was horrible and how the findings were presented was downright misleading. After that I've seen a few other ivermectin is the best thing for Covid "studies" or infographics but I don't have the energy to look into them all, as I figure it's more of the same, just like the demographic data this gentleman was posting. I enjoy having you ITT because you do the work I am too lazy to do. And I realize part of that is probably just you get through it quicker being more intelligent, but still, appreciated. May your Volvo keep you safe for us.

Thanks. Could be I just get bored reviewing pharma data after about 30 minutes and need a lot of breaks lol.

What I didn't realize before my now snarky sounding post was that he, and apparently a few other people, look at the graph and think it says 23.9% of the people who were hesitant to get the vaccine had a PhD. How could that be possible? It does kind of say 23.9% of people with PhD's were still hesitant to get a COVID vaccine in March.

To me, it says .46% of the people who said they were still hesitant to get the vaccine on a facebook survey also said they had a PhD. So 1 in 200 people who didn't want to get the vaccine and were willing to say that also said they had a PhD. I think the data source is reasonable and the group and CMU is probably very good at looking at their data. But even if I believe it's accurate, it doesn't mean much until you spin it. I'll be interested to see how it evolves though, because that may tell us something about how rigid people can be in their thinking.

Thanks too for the kind safety wish, but my kids have the Volvo's. How'd you even remember the Volvo thing though? Impressive! I've still got my wife's 2014 hand me down Durango, and I like it. It has the ventilated front seats for our NC summers and I can abuse it and not care.

You would have gotten a kick out of the Ivermectin infographic that was floating around the misc not long ago. Had about 20 "studies" which varried in sample size from single digits to hundreds. The larger studies actually showed zero to negative effect of ivermectin in treating Covid yet the infographic said something to the effect of 70-80% effective based upon the fact that 70-80% of the studies showed positive effect, meanwhile total patient effect was probably insignificant at best if patient data was pooled. I didn't even bother to do the math or to look into the individual "studies" once I saw how the data was being presented. Yet 90% of miscers instantly grabbed onto it as truth and absolute reason ivermectin is effective at treating Covid. That same infographic was shared in these forums for days. Again, the vulnerable to misinformation sharing with others vulnerable to misinformation.

You can definitely get a Volvo for yourself with cooled seats. You deserve it. Treat yourself.
