    Unable to lose weight?

Hi firstly thanks for taking the time to read any advise would be much appreciated

Have gain 1 stone bulking, (168lb now)
Believe I’m skinny fat, Waist is around 37”
While bulking I gained a steady 1lb per week sometimes little less

Started a cut 6-7 weeks ago along with tracking calories starting at 2300 down to 1900, all healthy foods Marco split as recommended

Now I’ve genuinely not lost a single pound, if anything it’s gone up a tad

I do have social anxiety and have read that could be the cause (high cortisol levels) or something could that really effect things? If so how do I work around this?

37inch waist at 168lbs? That's crazy. What are your lifts? What's your height?

chances are you're somehow tracking incorrectly

if you don't lose any weight after being in a "deficit" for two weeks, you need to lower your calories. you've been eating at maintenance for the past 6-7 weeks i'm afraid

He said he's skinny-fat - it could definitely be the case. I had a 36" waist (and 12" arms) at 170lb and 6'1" before I got into shape .

So you are suggesting my maintenance is 1900 and I should be eating 1400? This cannot possibly be correct surely

It doesn't matter what you feel about the numbers. Whether you are calculating correctly or not, you're not in a deficit if you're not losing weight.

It's only hard to say if you're not tracking or paying attention.

Was under the impression the question was lifts with a barbell
    Squat 30
    Bench 29
    OH Press 19
    Row 25
Deadlift unknown, don’t like doing it with dumbbells

So you are saying high cortisol has nothing to do with not loosing weight?

    It's factored into your TDEE.

Cortisol is a symptom of stress, it's not a cause of weight gain. The function of cortisol is actually to mobilise energy.

Chronic stress affects people differently - some will get skinny, others will gain weight - but that's because of its effect on your appetite.

Reducing life stress is beneficial in many ways.

But losing weight IS entirely down to calories in and calories out ultimately.

No, he's saying you're not really eating 1900, despite your claims.

Either way, you keep eating less until you're losing about 1% of your bodyweight per week, regardless of the numbers you *think* you're eating.
All it takes is consistency, effort, proper nutrition, good programming, and TIME.
