Can lifting cause grey hair or quicker aging?

So they say stress causes you to age faster, but is that only emotional or mental stress? When you are training hard and to failure, that is physically stressful for the body.

Lifting makes you go bald because of increased testosterone levels

There's a guy I know who has been lifting religiously from the age of 20 and is now 60. He looks about 40 years older

Chronic stress is bad for you and will make you age. Acute stress however, can be beneficial - this is the category that lifting falls into - as long as you rest and eat well between.

So to answer the thread title, no.

Stress, genetics, and drug abuse cause grew hair. If you take steroids and lift and maybe abuse drugs or even get a lot out of TRT you can accelerate aging and even get grey hair earlier if you have the genetics.

Always assumed it was genetic, same with hair loss. My wife started getting grey hairs in her 30's and she doesn't lift (fortunately she dyes it). I'm 40 and barely have a grey hair on my head.

Agree - I have close friends/relatives who after going through incredibly stressful life events came out at the other end with entire patches of white hair.

Grey hair is completely genetic. It has no concern with the lifting. Just change your lifestyle, have nutritional food in balanced amount.
