    Do insertions affect muscle use?

So I have bad bodybuilding insertions for my biceps(can fit three fingers between bicep and elbow with arm @ 90deg) and was wondering if it had an impact on what muscles were used during certain exercises.

For example I did EZ curls on my second week back and 80% of the soreness was in my forearm muscles surrounding the elbow and less on the bulk of the bicep itself. So do higher bicep insertions mean you'll compensate by using more forearm/brachioradialis or were my forearms just lacking?

Yes mate. When I do tricep extensions, because of my insertions I feel it all in my calves. Bench press I feel it all in my quads and rows in my tibialis anterior

No, it is likely a form issue, or your forearms are just a bit weak and the stimulus if effecting them more.

Insertions may effect the look of a muscle but will not effect its function.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
    1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

    It may.
I have a high bicep insertion also.
It's definitely hard to activate the low bicep when the arm at the bottom of bicep movements.
As a young up coming bodybuilder i was always told to do preacher curls or any bicep movement, arms straight to start, and curl.
Even bottom half curls to fill in the gap.
Yes the bicep tendon and forearm got more work and got sore compared to the bicep.
I know now thats basically impossible to fill in that gap.
The genetics you have are what you have to work with.
I just went with what i could feel in the biceps with exercises and try to increase upper forearm size.

Insertion points are the same for everyone barring physical deformity.

The lift numbers in your sig are invalid if you don't state your insertions. People need to know if you're cheating or not.
