I'm going with my mother tomorrow to clean this place up the best we can. His strung out excuse of a mother has DFACS up her ass trying to take the kids away, and if the place doesn't become at least livable sometime soon, my nephew (and her other son) will be taken from her custody.
Gonna try my best to not rage hard the entire time I'm there.
This is my nephews fukking BEDROOM.... Warning: NSFL
Spoiler!
EDIT:
This is what my mother and I were able to do to in his bedroom in a day. Turns out there was a bathroom in his bedroom, that had been closed off with a dresser in front of the door and not used for years because the toilet wasn't working. I got it working, along with their kitchen sink which hadn't worked in over a year.
Spoiler!

Idk how I feel about it, foster care is fking garbage as well. At least when this bitch has custody I see him every now and then and my mom and I can make sure he's at least healthy and whatnot.
I suppose its to avoid foster care. And to just give him a place to lay his head that isn't absolutely disgusting.**Georgia Crew**

Damn that's sad. Good for you OP for doing what you can. People don't understand that it's difficult and I'm sure there are things you would like to do but know you can't because if you do, you'll make it worse. What many don't understand is how living like this, with a mom that is messed up, it can lead to all kinds of mental problems for the kid that will haunt them their entire life.

Reminds me of my woman’s dad’s place. It wasnt that bad when she lived with her parents, but chit went way downhill after her mom split from him.
He passed away a few years ago and left us with an absolutely huge mess to clean up. It took weeks and we needed to bring in one of those big industrial garbage bins to haul everything away

Her boyfriend is worse than she is. The dad was my brother, who died unexpectedly 2 months ago.
There is a chance that my mother, his grandmother, would be given custody. But my brother was never legally his father. Another man (who is in prison) signed the birth certificate and we weren't allowed to meet my nephew until he was 4 years old.
He was still in diapers at that age, btw.**Georgia Crew**

OP, would you consider taking custody of your nephew? He clearly needs a stable parent figure. What about your brother? Why doesnt he take custody?

Feels inevitable.
Forgot to mention the kitchen sink, both toilets, and the oven are all broken and don't function.
It would obviously be a massive undertaking for me to take him in, but I would. I have a one year old and a newborn on the way, it wouldn't be easy.
My brother died recently, but even when he was alive it was tough. He didn't exactly have a stellar life either and could never afford the litigation to take custody.
Plus Georgia is big time stupid about leaving kids with moms, regardless of circumstance.**Georgia Crew**
