Low calories, high protein prevent muscle loss?

If I’m trying to cut, and I lower my calories even more, but I increase my protein intake, can that prevent muscle loss? Or maybe even bulk?

Lower your calories even more than what?
Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

    Uhhh, say what now?

What are your stats? What is your goal? Please post a photo for the best advice.
All it takes is consistency, effort, proper nutrition, good programming, and TIME.

Don't be upset with the results you didn't get from the work you did not do.

How long have you been dieting.
Have you been accurately counting calories, what were they
Do you have regular weigh-in readings - can you list them?

To answer your questions, calorie deficit must be appropriate to your size, fatter people can safely lose weight faster. As for protein, usually keeping at above about 1.6g of protein per kg of target bodyweight is enough to maximise muscle preservation. Of course training has to be on point too.
