Been there plenty of times. Although it made perfect sense at the time (was miserable), I always regretted it cause I felt like a loser sitting at home. Definitely try to find another job first, then quit

Yeah, finding another job before you quit is the common advice for this.
Funny how when you quit you have all those grand plans for things to do in your free time, but usually you just end up lying down and rotting a month and a half in.

Yes, I wanted to quit my job although they eventually just cut me lol. I was searching for jobs in the meantime. But I was unemployed for a month before I found a new job.
I think it's better in a sense that you can spend on your time focusing and researching on the job that is best for you. The bad thing is that the bills and the lack of income eventually hits and you may end up being desperate rather than finding the job that is right.

I did it and found work soon after. Mind you, this was while I was still in college though. I wouldn't do it now since I can't afford to eat savings in California. Especially now, when the government may close down industries on the fly.
