Bulking and cutting to the same weight ??.

So I bulked up to 185lbs but got a little too fat as I went too fast. I have now cut down back to 170lbs slowly over 2020 and have actually gained strenght on some of my lifts and maintained on the rest from 185lbs.

I'm just wondering if it would make sense to slow bulk up to 180lbs then cut back to 170lbs again and then repeat until I got to 10 - 12% BF. I really don't want to cut down into the 160's as I feel that is far too small for my height and I fear I would start losing strenght on my lifts. However if this is going to cause me to wheel spin then I'll just have to accept it and get on with it.

I'm sitting at roughly 15% BF.

Eat maintenance and do a recomp. You're a perfect candidate to pull it off successfully based on the lifts in your sig and your body fat %.

Post a pic for better response. There's a good chance you need to concentrate on fat loss. Recomping the majority of the time ends up being a waste of time. If you built a good amount of muscle on your bulk and not just mostly fat then you MAY have some success with recomping however there are several factors that must be in place to make that happen
If you don't get what you want you didn't want it bad enough

This is one way of improving your physique: running cutting and bulking cycles.

The alternative is to just slowly gain as you're getting stronger without having the need to cut.

No one knows what will work better for you.

You wheel spin when you don't commit to a process and give yourself the requisite amount of time needed for success. If you don't want to get too small as you've said, you may benefit from a slow lean bulk. You might also benefit from a very focused bulk back to 185-190 and then a slow cut where you try to retain the most amount of muscle possible but get to your desired bodyfat level. How long have you been training for?

I put pics 4 pics on my gallery photos just now. I would love to hear some opinions on them and what I should do next. I would love to slow bulk but if I look like I have to cut more fat off I'll continue on cutting.

Sounds good to me. I would say a year now properly. I started bulking in september 2018 and hurt my groin badly in 2019 but kept bulking anyways... and quite honestly I kept slacking off on upper body as I just felt unmotivated not being able to squat or deadlift at the time... this year I cut 15lbs and got a bit more serious. Started cutting in february.

I mean, it depends on how lean you want to get:

    10% = ~155
    11% = ~156.75
    12% = ~158.5
    13% = ~160

That's assuming I'm correct... it might be a bit different in the end...

Personally, I don't really see a need to go passed 160... but it's up to u

You need to keep cutting. I think you added mostly fat last time you bulked.

Get on a proper training program, get your protein in and get on a decent deficit. The goal will be to maintain the muscle you DO have and drop the fat.

I think in the past your calories were too high and your training program was suboptimal.

Haha I get ya however I doubt the legs will show any different picture of what there is to work with. The fact that OP is here seeking info is a big step in the right direction

This ^ is really good. Keep going like that. Post a pic again at 160 pounds. I expect you'll be lean enough to start a long slow bulk.

Just a front pic is enough for estimating body fat. Manu wants to see all pics becaause he wants to evaluate physique.
