This board has a decidedly white power feel to it, curious as to how diverse it is.

I was reminded by the Office of Compliance about the new inclusion of "uncontrolled sassie people" and those silly Canadians who need to be loved, too.
So, I have re-written our diversity and inclusion statement as follows:
People post here with no regard to race, creed, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, uncontrolled sassie people, Canadians, gender identity or expression, genetic predisposition, political affiliation, carrier status or any other status protected by law.
Thanks.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

Next, let's find out how many gays or transgender or atheists or Catholics.
My God, the divisiveness.
We train. Most of us for pretty much our whole lives. That's our common thread. We have a ton of shared experiences. We have different experiences. We talk training. We talk about life. WTF does trying to stuff us into separate categories have to do with it? Where does that need even come from?Envy is ignorance. Imitation is suicide.

I identify as Libertarian first. Problem is 3rd party candidates usually split the vote in favor of dems. Libertarians emphasize personal freedoms and less centralized power in govt. Small govt, local govt as outlined in constitution.
But on social issues, they would be considered 'liberal' since the govt should not be involved in people's personal decisions.
That said, libertarians find themselves close cousins to true 'conservatives' republicans except in regards to some social issues where the libertarian would more align with Dem views. Gay marriage would be a good example where libertarians would say the govt does not belong legislating in regards to that.
But they do not believe in a living constitution. One that changes. So they would not approve of democrats legislating moral issues. Eg title 9 stuff.
All in all, you will find Libertarians in the Republican party, but I dont think you would ever find one in the democrats. Small govt, lots of personal freedom. Pretty much the opposite of what the democratic party stands for.RAW lifts

I am not sure talking about 'origins' is relevant. The 'origin' of the democrat party could be said as the party of segregation. You are arguing semantics.
REAL WORLD, simply looking at todays democrat party it is FAR from the party of small govt and high on personal freedom. Before you argue with repubs and big govt, you will see me complain about that. Under GWB, the rup party was as bad as Dems. Add to that the largest loss of civil liberties under the patriot act, you wont see me as a 'fan' of that wing of the republican party.RAW lifts
