The missile reversal skill is so useful in this game. Some of the open world bosses I have encountered can only be damaged via this method and it's fun to time the button press right before the projectile hits you. You can even throwback firebombs and other explosives with it which is awesome.

The only times assassination has worked is if you're entering an area that's super op in order to steal some skillbooks or gear or some random/encounters missions where it's a pretty big place so you dont wanna alert everybody ..... I have the insta-kill assassination option enabled because I've hated the fact that in recent AC games you cant assasinate some high tier enemies due to their status/level, so in that sense I've made the game easy for myself, but also I feel its more realistic, because sticking a fkkn blade in someones throat is definitely an insta kill, and not some ****gy mini-game or a half assed attempt.
Also regards to some further story spoilers
Spoiler!
As for the other part
Spoiler!
Dunno mangs, as much as this game has me playing it non stop .... so many things feel so half baked, random and just added for the sake of it ..... Feels like they tried to do far too much and instead should have been laser focused on a few elements and added some of these as DLC titles or something. I'm not sure how much covid impacted their development and with the game director resigning due to personal issues but a lot of this should have been overseen by a director/edtior and been like, nope, we're gonna concentrate on this and make this better rather than trying to add a bunch of bloat that ended up being inconsequential.Sig line can't be a novel

I feel like they already need to reboot the series yet again since the origin era seems to be done. That monotonous almost arcadey meaninglessness is fatiguing.
They need to rethink it yet again, double down on the historical elements and accuracy... and modernize again for next gen.

Lmfao at anyone who can say this game is better, or even on par with, Odyssey or Origins. This game fking suck ass. 100% srs.
This skill tree is 110% AIDS. It's all blacked out and you have no idea what branch leads to what - and the skills are in the most random, zero-thought-given-to-it order ever. Did Ubisoft get a team of their most autistic devs for this game? It's a 7/10 AT BEST. And that's being extremely generous. I feel dumb for even paying $15 for it.

Mhm. Because we care about scores.
Odyssey and Origins are both leaps and bounds better than Valhalla. Not even close.
If this game didn't say Assassin's Creed in the title, I'd basically have no idea I was playing an Assassin's Creed game. It literally just feels like a whole new IP. I might be able to find ways to think it's a good game -- if I wasn't buying it expecting an Assassin's Creed experience.Last edited by R3L3NTL3SS; 11-21-2020 at 04:51 PM.

If you try to play the game for what it is and ignore the fact that it's supposedly an Assassins Creed game, it's not completely terrible. Main story is quite repetitive in itself though. In the grand scheme of things it involves you literally doing the same thing over and over and over.
Spoiler!
The game also has tonssssss of bugs and dumb chit.
- At one point last night I got stuck in a small hole in the ground. Was just walking and the game triggered the physics that I was sliding down a hill...only it was just a tiny hole. Not a hill. That I couldn't jump out of, etc. Was stuck there permanently until I saved and re entered the game. Tried to see if I could summon and mount my horse, but the fuker wouldn't come close enough for me to try that.
- Often times enemies (including a boss fight I had last night) will be in their fighting stance, but seemingly have zero clue you're there. They won't move, attack you, etc. They just sit there and let you kill them.
- Random objects, including NPC's will float/slide across the ground randomly. (Watched a shield from a dead NPC slowly float like 50-60 feet across the ground for example last night.)
- Saturday as I posted ITT, I watched an entire longboat literally just float down from the sky slowly and land on the ground. Not even in the water. On the ground like 50 feet away from the closest water.
Lots and lots of dumb **** like that going on. And that's only what I've seen after being ~15 hours in lol.

Odyssey would have been amazing if not for the insanely massive bloat it had and grinding out it makes you do .... I played the chit out of Odyssey, but I burned out quick and didnt touch it after finishing the main story.
This game lacks a lot of overall polish, but in a sense I think the smaller scale and focus is better than Odyssey. I'm still having a lot of fun, but I think I'm more interested in what Ubisoft Quebec have in store for us with their next AC game, as they made Odyssey and Syndicate and the quality of writing in both those games are a lot better than what Montreal does. I think they manage to blend in the comedy and drama far better than Montreal have been able to do.Sig line can't be a novel

The smaller scale really hasn't helped anything. It's still a fairly big world consisting mostly of a bunch of nothing. Odyssey at least felt like real effort was put into it, grinding/repetitive side quests aside. . Valhalla all around feels like they grouped up the ****tiest devs they had for it. Maybe all the good dudes are busy with the new Far Cry or something. This game feels rushed in a loooot of ways to me.

The fighting seems strange to me. Idk. I just paused it and turned on Syndicate, havent played through that. I never had Odyssey, but I played some of Unity and Origins and really enjoyed them. Sure they aren't as "open" world I guess, but i like how the games play.
Ive never played Syndicate before, so I figured I may as well and then maybe go back to Valhalla at some point.Proof Angels exist: OzleyASMR

Man came across this stupid ass video of Odyssey, but I think in the past 2 years I've forgotten all the good that Odyssey managed to do
Yeah, it definitely does feel like Valhalla is doing a lot of things that Odyssey didnt do .... Especially in terms of character models, cutscene animation and just overall presentation .... Valhalla's envinronments are stunning and more diverse than Odyssey ... But man, Odyssey did have a far better story and far more interesting characters .... But there were some incredibly annoying things in the game, especially with the mercs .... In Odyssey, just like previous ubi games, you cant go two steps without some annoying as fuk merc that would be roaming around that's there to distrupt your entire mission/exploration .... But in Valhalla, you can at least ride around/explore and do missions without some op merc coming in and ruining your entire game.
I think both games have massive pros and cons, but it's hard to say exactly which game is better because I'm enjoying both and have a lot of criticisms of both. I only just wish Eivor was given more depth and characterization .... The voice actor is amazing, and does a great job of voicing eivor, but the writing fails him.Sig line can't be a novel

I decided to watch through the story (23hr vid wew) and it just seems...quite poorly told. There are a handful of good moments strewn throughout, but the connecting tissue that 95% of the story consists of seems so contrived, so flat, so forced, it just felt blah.
They really need to go back to having the isu storyline be a mysterious background note, hinting at mystery and intrigue yet to be solved in the future. instead of having it mashed in our face the entire time.
