Did you prefer better graphics and a lil less speed? Or more speed at 16 bit color?
I for one was running Quake 3 on a TNT 2.

I picked out the parts for my parents PC, I remember getting a TNT AGP x2 card thinking I got TNT 2 and later figuring out i got cucked and it was the TNT 1 that supported AGP 2.
Still half life was amazing.
By the time I was old enough or had enough money to build my own PC, my first card was some type of geforce 2 if I remember.
voodoo cards are expensive now on ebay. Interesting I read that the voodoo 2/3 screen captures dont do it justice because it has special dithering it applies after the memory buffer and before the vga output so the screenshots people took were not showing the color as good as what people saw on VGA in person.

TNT2 Ultra was better than the Voodoo3. It supported 32bit color. I think the Voodoo3 only supported up to 24bit.
I had all those early Nvidia and Voodoo Cards.
I had the Diamond Monster 3Dfx and the Diamond Viper V770 TNT2 Ultra specifically as well.
Seeing Quake 2 in 32bit Color was insane.
Also the Voodoo3 was only able to out perform the TNT2 Ultra at 640x480 and 800x600 16bit I think. After that the TNT2 Ultra would be the faster card.
Voodoo eventually went out of business and all of their assets were bought by Nvidia.IW3725-04, Black 116520, White 26320

people are using them for retro builds for the nostalgia factor. There are glide only games that sure you could use a glide wrapper or whatever but for that type that is going through the trouble to build an entire retro PC they prefer to play on the real hardware. I bought a voodoo 2 for like $25 a long time ago when it was obsolete but now those things are like $200 and hard to find. A lot probably got through away and now theyre hard to find.
