I was googling just to see what gyms in my area are doing now have a barrage of ads for "deals". They were doing appointments for times but pretty sure they are going back to full shutdown again soon.
I'm just adding more options to my home gym now. Including some tricep kickbacks, lol.

Welcome back!
I still go and from what i have observed about 45% of the regulars are back.
At times it is more like 60% but never like it was before.
As far as the future, it really depends on your own state of mind(Covid-19 is real and to be respected vs. it's a hoax, bla bla bla) and personal behavior seems to dictate the outcomes in various cities and states.
This is a tough one because we are all not on the same page when it comes to Covid tactics. There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

Last winter I escaped the cold of my garage gym for a few months for the first time in a few years (we decided to put two cars in the garage in the winter, the third outside...nother story)...Dec-Feb (Took March off) I went to a YMCA here in town which is brand new and really well equipped, I can even do snatches and cleans there. If it was not for the pandemic I would be back again this year. Hopefully I can go next year. It is actually open for the time being with additional measures and precautions...I am staying away tho. Id rather tough it out in the freezer than increase my risk of getting seriously ill.
It was great to use equipment I dont have for a few months: leg press, hammer strength stuff, all kinds of isolation type stuff..and an array of cable machines, and treadmills...(cant stand walking in the cold). It was also nice to bump into people I know and talk gym etc, and after training for years somewhat seriously some of the stuff you see other folks call training is hilarious. Good fun on a cold nite with nothing else going on around town. The warmer months are a different story usually very busy and need to get my gym stuff done first thing in the morning out in the garage.
I think the big corporate gyms and Ys etc will be back, and the classifieds will be jammed with deals for used gear. People are people. Please record my time/reps if I pass out

When they changed the infection tier system here in California, I felt relieved that my gym was 50 percent outdoors. Even in the worst teir any business can operate outdoors. My gym just finished an expansion of their outdoor area as well. Many other gyms here have built or added to an outdoor workout area.
Unfortunately other areas of the country aren't as fortunate to have that option. They may not make it through the pandemic. Hopefully if they do close, they'll be replaced with another gym at some point.Age: 42

Ok Mr political, maybe we could work together on this so we can get back to normal life, read on: https://apnews.com/article/counties-...6715da6edb6ebf
"U.S. voters went to the polls starkly divided on how they see President Donald Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, with a surprising twist: In places where the virus is most rampant now, Trump enjoyed enormous support,” the AP reported. “An Associated Press analysis reveals that in 376 counties with the highest number of new cases per capita, the overwhelming majority — 93% of those counties — went for Trump, a rate above other less severely hit areas. Most were rural areas in Montana, the Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Wisconsin.”
Maybe LWW we can work together on eradicating this thing. There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

I have no clue on your point, but all I’m interested in is continuing to get stronger because that beats whatever it is these political folks want to throw at us.
I personally don’t give a fuk about who is president cause well I’m getting stronger, and I’m clowning around with much of the political chit and I have zero fear of this virus (not cause I’m a fit pretty boy, but because strength is my goal) (I’m not very strong).
I don’t need a gym, I know how to get by, (I’ll chain boulders to a bar if I got to) but they are shutting down the only way for the poor mortals of the world to “beat the virus”, for real.

So now that the gym has gone to outdoor only again, the place was packed yesterday. Doesn't help that I go at 4 but they certainly overbook the place for losing half the workout space. It's impossible to get on any equipment in a timely manner. I had to spend an extra half an hour there from having to wait to get on ****. Guess I'm going to have to start going at 8 or 9 at night now.

Very true. I was bitching to my wife about it when I got home from there... but I did say.. going later at night beats doing prison workouts at home.
I still want to build a home gym but of course I just bought a house last month, and it's difficult to find equipment these days.Age: 42
