An N95 is not PPE for an airborne virus. It is *better* than a procedural mask or a bandana around your face, but I wouldn't call it PPE. PPE would include a full face APR or PAPR or supplied air system depending on the biological hazard implications (Biohazard or Bio-levels are based on lethality of the etiological agent). There was a study I may have linked here way back in March or April when the initial mask debates were happening before CDC changed course. It was a study of respiratory disease transmission in hospitals where both patients and staff wore a variety of mask types. N95s were only marginally better than a procedural mask, but the mask wearing (done correctly) by both patients, visitors, and staff significantly reduced transmission of a variety of respiratory illnesses (other common coronaviruses included). As an Occupational Safety professional it drives me crazy when people call a piece of cloth on their face PPE. It is not Personal Protective Equipment as much as it is Personnel Protective Equipment...N95 respirators are designed to filter 95% of particulate down to .3 Microns, The virus is 50-200 nanometers (.3 microns is 300 nanometers). They help and viruses are typically somewhat "sticky" but even N95s are not what I would professionally call PPE for airborne pathogens.
All of the stuff works together to HELP reduce transmission. The only way to prevent it is to stay away from people since even actual PPE can fail. Hierarchy of Controls...They like to have the N95s for medical workers because even though they only perform marginally better, they provide more mental relief and feelings of safety so they all don't walk off the job.Last edited by Plateauplower; 12-01-2020 at 11:20 AM.

I am never actually sure if you are correcting me or not because I am generally not smart enough to digest most of what you post about your job. But at this point I am not to concerned as judgement has been given by Mr. Copeland and this thing should be cleared out by Christmas.

Just shoveling more $hit into the mask debate IMHO, if the vaccines are effective as they are stating, and we have multiple different effective vaccines, that are already being mass produced before approval so they are ready for distribution, I think we could be out of corona times by spring. It will take time to vaccinate all the willing just here in the US where we have better logistics than many places... I'm not getting poked cause I'm confident I had it in January, and also confident in my belief that post infection immunity will last for years/decades. I work in critical infrastructure, so my family and I will likely have the opportunity to get dosed before the general public, but I'll save my doses for LWW since he's obese and can't wear a mask

I doubt that, I have a top level immune strength.
Generally a bodybuilder that is cut down to show levels are in weaker condition, most strongman carry more body fat.
But we dont need to get too involved there, it’s just in general, there are freaks in the world and also drug use that flips the tables on all that analysis.

BREAKING: Attorney General Bill Barr has just arrived at the White House after telling the @AP “the Justice Department has not uncovered evidence of widespread voter fraud that would change the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.”
“With all due respect to the Attorney General, there hasn’t been any semblance of a Department of Justice investigation. We have gathered ample evidence of illegal voting in at least six states, which they have not examined. We have many witnesses swearing under oath they saw crimes being committed in connection with voter fraud. As far as we know, not a single one has been interviewed by the DOJ. The Justice Department also hasn’t audited any voting machines or used their subpoena powers to determine the truth.
“Nonetheless, we will continue our pursuit of the truth through the judicial system and state legislatures, and continue toward the Constitution’s mandate and ensuring that every legal vote is counted and every illegal vote is not. Again, with the greatest respect to the Attorney General, his opinion appears to be without any knowledge or investigation of the substantial irregularities and evidence of systemic fraud.”

Looks like Barr is trying pretty hard to get fired. lol
NEW: Unsealed court document in DC reveals DOJ investigating an alleged "secret lobbying scheme" and a bribery conspiracy that offered "a substantial political contribution in exchange for a presidential pardon or reprieve of sentence.” @kpolantz
Prosecutors told the court they wanted permission to the filter team's holdings. The prosecutors believed the devices revealed emails that showed allegedly criminal activity, including a "secret lobbying scheme" and a bribery conspiracy that offered "a substantial political contribution in exchange for a presidential pardon or reprieve of sentence" for a convicted defendant whose name is redacted, according to the redacted documents. Communications between attorneys and clients are typically privileged and kept from prosecutors as they build their cases, but in this situation, Howell allowed the prosecutors access. Attorney-client communications are not protected as privileged under the law when there is discussion of a crime, among other exceptions.
"The political strategy to obtain a presidential pardon was 'parallel' to and distinct from [redacted]'s role as an attorney-advocate for [redacted name]," Howell wrote in her court order. The grand jury investigation also appears to relate to unnamed people acting as unregistered "lobbyists to senior White House officials" as they sought to secure a pardon and use an intermediary to send a bribe, the unsealed court records say.

You got me, I literally meant, the minute he takes office.
If Trump was in, we'd see Covid at least another full year, even with a vaccine.
I don't care Farley, go make a wager with someone else, I don't do that $hit.
BTW, I just stumbled on that the Philly mob boss (who has been in and out of prison since the 90s) is looking at more time and willing to spill the beans on Biden, apparently they had two houses in South Philly with people filling out Ballots for Biden. He's looking to make a deal to reduce his current legal problems? He's out now, and wants to keep it that way.

Hell I don’t have a crystal ball. It’s a guess based on estimates I’ve heard for vaccines currently made, production capacity for the double dose types, and how long at the minimum it will take to get a pretty sizable chunk of the people who will take it administered. The fear mongering will throttle back some too when the numbers start declining. IL not too long ago started adding “suspected” cases to the numbers, even though we have a very high testing capacity per capita. I think they want to ratchet the fear up a bit to get a better turnout of people willing to take the vaccine. Polling wasn’t looking really good at around 50-60% likely to take it last I heard.
