Eh, his career is winding down. He’s about done. He probably feels he should start putting people over before he retires
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a nonlinear, nonsubjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.

Bryan's strength was reinventing himself, when he got stale.
He always did something new and cool. He cannot keep being a nice dude carried by yes-chants again. He was pretty great when he returned and soon turned into some snobby eco warrior with Rowan last year.
When he returns from his injury he needs to do something new. I have faith in him to do so, since he has proven smart enough to do so before.
