Any opinions as to why?
My theory is that it not about race but the fact that it wasn't the Yankees or a large market "exciting" team.

I think there is a little less luster on all sports right now. Can't really go to a bar with a bunch of buddies to watch the game and less likely to have people over to watch the game either. Games on a neutral site and minimal fans in the stands.
I'm a Dodger's fan so I'm excited they won. But the whole season was horribly managed by MLB & MLBPA from the beginning. You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

Still pulled more viewers than the NBA Finals. I do think the BLM thing turned some fans off in the beginning of the season, though MLB for the most part backed off from that pretty quick, seeing the backlash from fans.
That being said, baseball is more of a regional sport compared to football, fans in Milwaukee or Cincinnati probably don't give a chit the Dodgers are in the playoffs again. Everyone in LA I know were watching the game, so Dodgers fans were probably the bulk of the viewership and Tampa is a very small market. Historical match-ups tend to be big draws like you said. Dodgers-Yankees might have set records.
A lot of people watch championship games at bars, since they were mostly all closed or very limited, that might have had an impact as well (including NBA and Stanley Cup Finals). Though I'm not sure how ratings account for that.
The Series is best out of seven, historically viewership is higher for elimination games, even higher on game 7 (if it had reached that far I'm sure ratings would have spiked).
Cord cutting is probably another reason and why I say that is the Stanley Cup ratings took a massive dive as well. People have had to cut their bills due to the pandemic and many, especially the younger demographic raised up on cable doesn't realize they still can get TV broadcasts for free with an antenna.
It's really just a variety of factors.

I watched most of the playoffs until the LCS. Wasnt intrigued by the matchup to take additional time off my work schedule.

The NHL did so much that first game back(game 1), that i assumed that baseball would at the World Series, but i guess i missed it all by going to the gym.
From the camera angles that i saw, i never saw that logo once, only pitchers going for the bag to dry their hands. There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!
