Also I can do 160 for 12 reps
The most I do for my 1 rep maxes are 205 but 205 sometimes feels a bit easy, I get that chit easily
I max out every session, and sometimes I’ll do 200 for 2 reps
If I plug in 185 for 5 in the one rep max calculator it says my max is like 210
But if I plug in 160 for 12 it says my max is 225
I never attempted 225 in my life, should I just go for it?
Also this is bench obv

seems like based on the info you have given you're better at higher reps thus would have a 1RM lower than expected, especially if you don't train low reps and singles.
anything above 3 reps on those calculators are pretty junk and not very accurate. In your case, the 185 x 5 giving you an estimated max of 210 is probably more accurate than 160 x 12.
or alternatively pick a conservative number and try it.
If you can only do 200 x 2 as your max effort, your max is probably around 205-210.Last edited by sooby; 10-29-2020 at 01:23 PM.

If you max out every session you already know what your max is.

If you want to hit 225, then you really need to be hitting 185 for like about 7-8 reps. When I was a first dyel mode, hitting 135 for 10 was huge, and then it was alright lets hit 225. I used the same calculators you probably did and it said I needed to be hitting 185 for 7-8 reps. So I would do 135 for a warmup, and then I really just focused on hitting 10 of whatever weight it was. I think I went up like 155 for 10, then it was 175 for 10, and then when I hit 185 I tried to hit 10. Once I started to hit 10, I would do 1-3 reps of 195, 205, 215, and then 225. If you took it seriously, you would probably hit your goal of a 225 bench in like 2-3 months honestly, maybe sooner. Once you hit 225, you just need to start lifting that every time until you hit 10 reps. Then from there it's all on you. Some people climb for a higher bench, and some people just build out their reps of 225. Once you can bench 225, you pretty much have the respect of almost everyone in the gym.
Another factor is how your feeling srs. Some days you just get into the gym and you're in a funk and can't hit it. Coincidentally I hit my max of 385 on a day when I wasn't even going to do a 1RM. I was just lifting and just kind of felt the need to try. I'm gunning for a 4 plate bench as a goal of mine as well.*Mechanical Engineering Crew*
