Halo Infinite loses its director in another leadership shakeup
The director of Halo Infinite has left developer 343 Industries. Chris Lee, who has worked at the studio for more than a decade, confirmed his departure via Bloomberg earlier today.
The departure marks another blow for Halo Infinite. Last summer, it lost its creative director and executive producer, at which point 343 said that Lee would continue to lead "the overall creative vision and production of the game." Earlier this year, the game, which was originally slated to release as an Xbox Series X launch game, was pushed back to 2021, and we still don't have a concrete Halo Infinite release date.

I've personally made better looking demos within a month of using unity for the first time.
That demo was an absolute chit show. Its hard to understand just how bad it is without understanding that even free tools are capable of so much more with a small learning curve.
They could have had better models/textures/map and it would have solved everything the demo show cased. They, very clearly, have a chit team working on this. Its AS BAD as fallout 76.Boycott foodservice industry crew

They really shouldn't have pushed that initial gameplay demo out and just delayed. So many other games to play anyways and plenty of older Halo's if that's your schtick. Halo was getting stale anyways so its a good thing these upper management and directors are leaving so someone better can fill their shoes and breathe some life back into it.

Honestly 343 has always been mediocre as phuck, the best thing they ever did was releasing The Master Chief Collection and even that was a total chit show when they released it on the Xbox One, it's only been a good thing on the PC. Halo has been a zombie franchise ever since they took it over and I don't think anyone really holds it to high regard anymore besides Sony fanboys who try to act like they aren't the only people who still care about it (just so they have something to make fun of I guess). Can't imagine this guy leaving will have any real hit on the quality of games they have been making.

It's a shame that MS just mismanages its first party titles. They just don't have the ability to keep their IPs fresh and have longevity. Here's hoping they don't destroy the Bethesda titles.

That's nearly every AAA company because they get insanely greedy. They see game franchises as unsustainable and necessary to burn down, despite long term potential.
The only way to make a business want to sustain an IP is attach a subscription to it. That basically ends the release of any new iteration.Boycott foodservice industry crew

Forza is still doing great, seems to be better managed than Gran Turismo has been. It's really just Halo that has fallen but then again that was to be expected after Bungie moved on, in fact even Bungie isn't what they used to be. Gears is just a long running series at this point where you are either into it or you're not. A lot of their other stuff seems to be doing well, they are more focused on their Game Pass service at this point anyways.

Only silver lining in all of this is that he was originally reassigned after the demo in the summer came out like ass, so he's been off the project for a couple of months now. Was probably let go because he was not managing the game development correctly. However, Joe Staten, who was a hugo cinematics and writer from the Bungie Halo days has recently taken over the reigns of the campaign for Infinite, which is pretty solid for the future. They had made the statement that Infinite was going to be almost like a "Warzone" type game. Where it launches as one thing and then develops over time. I'd honestly be cool with that if it was like Halo MCC, and this massive hub for a bunch of things you could do. I could see Infinite maybe being a disappointment at launch, but I think over time it could get way better.
Right now Halo is kind of been a dead franchise since Halo 4 imo. Halo 5 was cool but the story really just went off the fukkin rails in 5 and to me made no sense whatsoever. As a die-hard Halo fan, I would really want them to retcon everything before Halo 4 and just keep it going, but it's probably too late to do that. The Spin-Off games to me where always pretty solid. I really liked ODST and Reach. Kind of hope we can get another game in the Halo universe that's not based around Master Chief.*Mechanical Engineering Crew*
