There's multiple slides they go through but here's one of them.

Is there a straight ray tracing performance comparison between the 6800xt and rtx3080 right now? Without DLSS so it's apples-apples?
Have a great Friday you motherfukkeeeeeer!

Listen, I've owned many AMD cards in the past and I love competition
I'm also an AMD shareholder... with that said.

The 1440p benchmarks that AMD presented were in RAGE MODE which is essentially in overclocked mode... aka more power draw and then comparing overclocked AMD card to stock 3090... Then to make things worse they are comparing it with their cpu+mobo combo which apparently adds performance.

Why not compare at 4k? scared your cpu cant carry you like it does in 1440p?
Why not compare stock for stock? why brag about 300watt power but then show only rage mode results....

I think the real reviews will put this back into perspective and tell the real story

The 6800 XT vs 3080 benchmark at 4K and 1440p were both without SAM and without Rage Mode.

Then when they introduced SAM and Rage Mode as topics, they then showed how the 6800 XT compares with them on against the 3080 at 4K.

The 6800 vs 2080 Ti benchmarks, both 1440p and 4k, were with SAM enabled, however, so you got a point there when thinking about the 6800 vs 3070/2080 Ti.

The 6900 XT vs 3090 benchmark, only 4k, no 1440p shown to us, features SAM + Rage Mode.

I think that you're right when you indicate that AMD isn't showing the whole picture when it comes to RayTracing performance, but I think they were pretty darn fair in their benchmarks, with the exception of the 6800 non-XT which only had benchmarks for when SAM was enabled.

The 6900 XT benchmarks solely being 4k and with the SAM + Rage Mode toggled is them showing what a topped out 6900 XT (paired with Zen 3) can do compared to a 3090 at 4K.

    EDIT:

I'm curious how streaming/recording/Chrome tabs while simultaneously running games can impact things when you use SAM mode in those games. SAM will cause impact to the CPU load right? So I wonder if you have it toggled off, will it fair better in games when you plan to have a lot going on in the background simultaneously.

Every bench I’ve seen has ray tracing halving FPS. No bueno yet.

I'm still on the hype train for RDNA 2, but this is worth noting:

Measured by AMD engineering labs 8/17/2020 on an AMD RDNA 2 based graphics card, using the Procedural Geometry sample application from Microsoft’s DXR SDK, the AMD RDNA 2 based graphics card gets up to 13.8x speedup (471 FPS) using HW based raytracing vs using the Software DXR fallback layer (34 FPS) at the same clocks. Performance may vary. RX-571

A Redditor NegativeXyzen tested ASUS RTX 3080 TUF performance and reported an average framerate of 630:

We have also ran the benchmark on the GeForce RTX 3080 with stock clock and power targets using a precompiled executable file. The RTX 3080 scored 635 framerate on average from three 1 minute runs.

This means that GeForce RTX 3080 is around 33% faster than Radeon RX 6800 XT in this particular benchmark. Of course, there are few things that need to be taken into the account such as the testing platform and DXR benchmark resolution (AMD did not clarify the resolution, hence we used a default one).
