YI started the name of the wind sevvvvvveral years ago but it was just so boring. Then about 2 years ago, i decided to actually read it. Still pretty boring but i read the equal also. Didnt really like them until i watched some youtube videos on them and about the unanswered questions (like what is the cthaeh, who are the chandrian etc). Its really well written and a LOT OF TIME was put into crafting the kingkiller universe but there just isnt the action that i really like to see

To Tank, I love "Watchers" which is probably the best book by Koontz. A retired Delta Force now depressed and cynical, an incel woman and a runaway dog with genetically engineered super-intelligence, together they fight a war against Evil....won't say any more.

And the Dead Shall Rise
“ 1913, 13-year-old Mary ****an was found brutally murdered in the basement of the Atlanta pencil factory where she worked. The factory manager, a college-educated Jew named Leo Frank, was arrested, tried, and convicted in a trial that seized national headlines. When the governor commuted his death sentence, Frank was kidnapped and lynched by a group of prominent local citizens.
Steve Oney’s acclaimed account re-creates the entire story for the first time, from the police investigations to the gripping trial to the brutal lynching and its aftermath. Oney vividly renders Atlanta, a city enjoying newfound prosperity a half-century after the Civil War, but still rife with barely hidden prejudices and resentments. He introduces a Dickensian pageant of characters, including zealous policemen, intrepid reporters, Frank’s martyred wife, and a fiery populist who manipulated local anger at Northern newspapers that pushed for Frank’s exoneration. Combining investigative journalism and sweeping social history, this is the definitive account of one of American history’s most repellent and most fascinating moments.”

i've read every book of his. just found a new one and reading it rn. he makes you turn the pages.
but some things i've noticed:
-he has a creepy obsession with teenage girls...like the white middle class popular stacy types. ALL of his books revolve around saving a girl like this. and the way he fawns over them is sus af.
-in most but not all the books, one of the main couples is a sucessful, beta "good" guy married to a type A hbb woman who isn't deeply attracted to him.

Book about a kid who ditches his cozy San Francisco office job in the late 1890's to pursue the Klondike Gold Rush
Not really a self improvement book but it is an inspiring tale. Short story too, only about 150-200 pgs."It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience."

I've just finished the final book in The Witcher series.
I'm a huge fan of the games and the character and found the books an enjoyable read.
I would say that I felt slightly underwhelmed by the finish, I think the author set out with a large scope and an ambitious approach to world building but couldn't quite pull it off.
The lore with each book seemed to fall away as he wrestled with the story he was crafting and in some parts became convoluted and unclear.
Overall though I'm glad I read them and there's certainly some great action and funny/interesting characters to be found in the series.
