Question Do i need to eat before bed ?

Hello, i have a question. I dont like to eat at night, because i sleep better without food and i just dont want to prepare something at 12 a.m. Thing is, my last meal (around 30g of protein, some fats, some carbs, it depends on what i eat) is around 8 P.M. But i go sleep at around 12 A.M. And i sleep for like 8 hours and after waking up i have normally breakfast. So my question is, is it bad for gains / lose fat etc. if i go sleep 3-4 hours after my last meal ? Thanks

it shouldn't matter in the grand scheme of things and you should focus on aspects that matter more

maybe if you're competing you should optimize literally everything you can, but casually it shouldn't make a difference

edit: just checked your post history out of curiosity because you're red, and most of the questions you've asked over the 1½ years can easily be googled. i'm not saying you shouldn't ask anything in here, but you should do a quick google search before asking. chances are you'll find a similar thread on these forums or reddit with tons of answers

IMO, not worth worrying about. Good sleep is important, too. I wouldn't worry about the one tenth of one percent difference it MIGHT make...

I agree. If you can get away with a protein shake before bed without adverse effects on sleep, you can try that if you want.

I do that and I find it makes me get up in the night to go for a pee - but as long as I go straight back to sleep, it's not a problem. If it made me lay awake for 30mins plus, I would stop doing it.

I find that eating a decent sized meal between 10pm-12pm makes me wake up with a growling stomach feeling hungry asf whereas I feel fine next morning If I earlier e.g. 8/9pm... Why is that?

Won't matter much. You could have a bit more protein in that last meal, say 40-50. It may help a bit.

The only thing required before bed is Ben N Jerrys and/or sex. Preferably both.

Problem solved. Don't eat at night then. It's not a big deal. Stop worrying.
