Can you play music with apple watch?

That’s the only benefit I see for getting one. Sometimes my phone falls out of my pocket in some workouts.

    three ways:

    1) have a cell enabled watch for streaming
    2) have your phone nearby, then you can control it from the watch
    3) download (I think this works, but I haven't done it)

I have a fitbit and I like it because it tracks sleep, resting heart rate, steps, and gives me previews of texts, which is all I really care about. I'd like an Apple Watch, but I don't want to charge the damn thing every 1-2 days. Once an Apple Watch holds a charge for a week, I'll buy one because I do enjoy the fitness features of smart watches.

Fitbit. It's pretty sweet. The app is also great for tracking calories and gives you a countdown of how many more calories you can eat for the day. When you program your caloric deficit goals in, it takes into account how many calories you are burning that day and increases how many calories you can eat, so you maintain the same daily deficit.

Also has a database of food labels, so you can just scan them instead of entering manually.

I own a garmin fenix 5 sapphire. It doesn’t do the same stuff as an Apple Watch, however it will show me texts, and the new fenix 6 is supposed to have the capability to play music.

Where this watch shines is it’s utility. I use it as an alarm clock everywhere I go, it has built in maps that I use while outdoors, it’s even gone 20 meters underwater with me a few times.

I bought it in 2017 and I have only managed to put a tiny little scratch in the glass that you would barely notice. It’s been covered in grease, oil, mud you name it lol.

And I charge it once a week if that.

One thing about smart watches is don’t expect the heart rate monitor to be exact... many of them use a light sensor to measure heart rate and it isn’t exactly accurate. You want a chest mounted monitor for accuracy.

Bought my Apple Watch Series 5 at the end of July and it's been one of the best purchases I've made in the past year or two. I don't need to keep my phone on me at all times, or at least keep pulling it out of my pocket, it keeps me accountable since i'm more motivated to close all three rings daily as well as get a minimum of 10k steps per day.

Apple Watch here. Definitely love mine and get a lot of use out of it. It's just an extension of your phone, that's how I think of it anyway...mostly use it to check notifications to determine whether or not I have to get the phone. Simple/short texts and a few phone calls here and there from the watch, otherwise it's just an easier way to check things without pulling out the phone.

But fitness is the real reason I justify it. Wear it all day and get a decent ballpark of my TDEE, record all workouts (running, lifting etc). Record my sleep, you get the idea. It's great for fitness/health purposes. There are a lot of activity trackers out there - I went with the apple watch because it does offer a lot of 'ecosystem' functionality if you're already invested in Apple products that you wouldn't get with a Fitbit, for example.

I have a Garmin and the battery lasts over a week. Solid for workouts and such. Waterproof, pulse oximeter, maps, music so you can workout or run without a phone, plus it looks mostly like a normal watch.
