I dont know that 40" TVs are even really good options for 4k if I'm being honest.
I can't go with 43 inch because my girlfriend complains it's too big. 40 inch is my limit. At 40 inch would it be better to go 1080p?

    Is this one good?

Just LMAO if you're not OLED or at least QLED in the Current Year

Also a TV can never be "too big", is this a troll post? Even my 82" isn't too big for couch gaming

Your GF can't handle 3 inches? Oof. Feels m8.

Tbh its 3" diagonally, it evens out to just over like 2" wider if that. The difference between 40 and 43 isn't even noticeable and you get a far superior product.

At 40" it seems that the Vizio V Series (I think that's what you're picking up for Costco) seems to be the best product but it's not great and you'll need to manually update the settings

When ever I'm at the tv section at a store and wonder why one brand is much cheaper then another, then I look at the display and as each tv is showing the same show/display, it's pretty obv. why one's cheaper vs the other. I got my 55 inch Samsung 4k smart on sale a year or 2 ago for like 400-500 CAD, it's pretty good.

So I returned my TV to target and now just realized I left my Hulu and Netflix account logged in. I don't know what to do. I can change my Hulu password but the Netflix account belongs to my sister ex boyfriend. I also bought the vizio from Costco. Have yet to hook it up seeing I have a very busy life

But it's not just her. 43 inch was too big for our room.

So I ended up getting this tv from Costco

    https://www.costco.com/vizio-40%22-c...100670524.html

It's not nearly as bad as the last TV. Doesn't give me a headache but does slightly strain my eyes. It's like I'm watching TV with 3D glasses on. Going to give it a try for at least a week. Maybe my eyes will adjust to 4k. If not, I just give up. Not even going to get a 1080p. Just going to stick with my 32inch 720p tcl I have. IDGAF anymore, 4k seems pretty garbage to me. Prefer watching chit on my 1080p 17inch 144hz gaming laptop. I swear all you idiots putting 70inch TV's in your bedrooms are retarded. Say goodbye to your eyesight once you're 50. Can't believe I just spent 220 dollars on a phucking TV.

Does it have a blue light filter option? That might help with your eye strain. It will change the picture/colors somewhat but if your eyes are bothering you this legit works.

But don't go back to a 1080p panel thats just wrong when so many 4k options exist now.
So what are the best TVs? I still have a 1080p.

The TV has to do digital processing to match or scale up the frames from the source to the panel. They can create interpolated frames on 120hz sets and make movies look like they are soap operas, make it look "too smooth".

4k or 1080p shouldnt matter, 1080p is a direct 4x upscale to 4k. But if the TV is really cheap maybe the upscaler is slow, i couldnt imagine them selling a TV with an upscaler so slow it cant keep up but who knows. I dont have a super cheap 4k TV. I only have cheaper 1080 TVs and a nice mid-high range 4k TV.
i've known a few people who had this issue with their 4k TV's.
it gave them headaches and and it looked like it was flickering or stuttering really fast.

they took them back and got a different model and didn't have the issue.

My parents had it with a samsung smart TV.
    65" with built in android.
not only was the picture chit, the apps menu was laggy AF and the navigation inside the streaming apps was beyond frustratingly slow.

It could of just been the TV itself had issues and not the model, but they ended up exchanging it for a different model and bought a roku stick which worked way better.

Okay so I bought a chomecast and hooked it up. Set is up to 1080p 60HZ and it looks good. My eyes feel much better watching it. Sadly, there's no resolution option on the regular OS or least I can't find it. Not sure how I feel about this. Also getting a 4k TV only to watch it in 1080p seems kind of Dumb to me. Highly considering just getting a 1080p TV now. Maybe just a regular Dumb TV and hooking up my chromecast.

65 inch oled in the living room and I sit about 4-5 feet away and generally watch/play games at night with the lights off ..... that oled backlight is seared into my brain now hehe u mirin

    UPDATE:

Will be returning my Vizio 40 inch UHD LED smart TV tomorrow to Costco. Went expensive and spent $220 on this but severly disapointed. Although not as blurry and bad as the previous 4k tv I bought, it's still not good. Also, I think there is input lag when I plug in my gaming laptop to the TV. Looking for some good 40 inch 1080p TV's right now to pick up. If you guys have any recommendations, please let me know boyos.

4k technology is a failure, 1080p is the superior resolution as it stands right now. 4k has a long way too go and hopefully, TV manufactures can improve it in years to come.

By the way, these are the two TV's I've tested

Pretty sure imma be picking this up later on today from target

    https://www.target.com/p/tcl-40-34-c...55#lnk=sametab

One of the best 1080p's you can find and it's for 179.99. Has a very high rating on rtings rating it the best 1080p tv you can buy in 2020. It's also a good gaming tv with very little input lag. Will test Halo 4 running and HDMI from my MSI gaming laptop to my TV. Hoping the picture is much better than the previous chitter 4k TV's. Could just be my eyes but I've been running my 720p tcl tv in my room for the past few days and I feel just fine.

I went ahead and bought a 55" LG CX OLED + 2 year warranty for $1600. Looks damn good. My room is small too, but it's not bad at all. Not sure what the OP is talking about, there's a huge, huge difference between my 1080p and my new OLED. I bet 4k Blu Ray movies look godly too.
