RVD is an overrated pothead. I remember seeing a match with him and Jericho in which Jericho was working a body part and RVD just starts selling another body part in the middle of the match. He already had one strike for obviously wrestling high but after that match I was done with him.
And Taz had the best catch phrase in ECW and one of the best in history: “Beat me if you can...survive if I let you.”Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. -C.S. Lewis

posts in ecw thread
brings up wwf tv
you're calling van dam overrated like taz had any psychology whatsoever. brb be 5'6, act like a ufc fighter, don't sell anything and only do suplexes and clotheselines.
you weren't watching ecw at the time, so don't pretend that you were. van dam was the reason they got a tv deal and they lost said tv deal when he was on the shelf. that wasn't a coincidence.

ECW was on the air late at night in Chicago and I was watching it there long before they got national tv. I also wasted a ton of money buying ECW and Japanese wrestling tapes in my youth.
And because I actually watched ECW, I know that Jericho was briefly in ECW and wrestled RVD there in the match I’m referring to.Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. -C.S. Lewis

not about taste. it's about impact and being objective imo. taz did not have the same impact on the company that van dam did. you can try to argue that point, but i don't think there's anyone who would agree with you. maybe i'm wrong. i didn't see taz getting a push when ecw was allowed tv time on raw in 1997.
also
study high, take the taste high, get high scores

so i see a lot of people listing sabu and i just wanna speak on that for a second.
i love sabu. in a lot of ways, he put ecw on the map. barb wire ropes match with terry funk...all his crazy ass spots
but...he was never loyal to the company. he walked away more than once. imo only true marks were 100% loyal to ecw like tommy dreamer, but that's part of what gets you on the ecw mt rushmore....being an ecw mark.
sabu was special and i'll pit respek on his name until i die....but as much as his chit put ecw on the map, he wasnt a lifer.
will never forget him diving off the raw sign in 1997. he botched it but sabu was a botcher. still love him but thats what he did.
