My best bud told me that it is a few generations behind technologically. But it will look stunning even though it’s not the best on the VR market.
If it helps I will be stuck on PS4 pro until early 2021. And I will be keeping my PS4 right along side the ps5 when I am able to get that.

Sony said PSVR will be supported for PS5 so it KINDA stops you from thinking a PSVR 2 will be released soon.
Factor in that the MSRP is still the MSRP at release lets you know they aren't trying to clear stock for a 2nd version*** Free Thinker Crew ***

I would hold off, idk if they will be releasing a new one or not but the camera port is proprietary and ps5 doesnt have one.
Not known yet if they will release a new psvr or if it will only be for backwards compatible for ps5 but they will need to atleast release an adapter for the camera to work on ps5.
I think they will make an updated version. Those controllers it uses have been around since ps3 and are due for an update.
edit - just saw that they actually plan on releasing a new camera for ps5, it was announced/shown mid summer but theyve kept quiet on it all fall, seems very likely a new psvr 2 will come out but sometime after launch.Last edited by elterrible987; 10-22-2020 at 07:39 PM.

yeah that chit is creepy. I got rid of all my VR, i cant really do it for more than 20 minutes or it makes me nauseous. But RE 7 on PSVR was nuts, just nothing comparable to it, its like being in a scary movie. Was at the beginning when you have to wade through that water under the house and fuking zombie jumps in your face out of nowhere, legit screamed like a school girl.

VR Games sound cool to me, but I think I would get over them pretty quickly. Unless it's like a Ready Player One type VR, I'm not really interested lol. My eyes would probably start to hurt and I'd get a headache. I have no issue with just looking at a TV.
I think VR is more of a gimmick than anything really. As an Xbox-cel, Microsoft really has wanted nothing to do with VR when it comes to the Xbox. It doesn't really pay for itself when the technology hasn't been a mainstream hit like they thought it would be. It's largely stagnated in sales when compared to the amount of Playstation consoles sold. If I had a Playstation, I would personally not get it because I would not use it outside of showing it off to people when they are over.*Mechanical Engineering Crew*

Fuk off tool bag
Quest 1 was sold out longer than Nvidia cards and now Quest 2 is selling like crack
Since the launch of the Oculus Quest 2 just 3 days ago, developers from all over the spectrum of VR gaming are reporting a significant spike in sales. From big names to smaller indie studios, the Oculus Quest 2 is having a huge impact on game sales and, ultimately, the success of the VR industry.
Specifically, we're seeing reports from studios like Cloudhead Games, makers of Pistol Whip, showing an 10x increase in sales. The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets and Apex Construct developer Fast Travel Games is seeing an 800% spike in sales, while Angry Birds VR and Blaston developer Resolution Games cites a 500% jump.
its one of the hottest selling products of the year
keep your stupid ass ignorant opinions to yourself you're talking like its 4 years ago right now.

PSVR is a bit antiquated at this point but that could be mean it could be a cheaper way to get into it.
I still love mine and keep an eye out for new titles. Want to try the Ironman VR game yet.
Further, I will continue to state from my personal experience that RE7 in VR is one of the best gaming experiences you can have.Fuk BLM

No. If you want VR go Oculus. Waaay better because it's wireless. If you want PS VR games you can buy it, but I hate all the wires and crap ever since playing the Oculus. If Sony makes it wireless I'd definitely buy one.
Edit: The big downside to Oculus is you have to sign into ********. I'll wait till Sony releases VR2, I'm hoping they do.
Somebody beat me to it.
The Oculus is so good I don't even consider it a gimmick. I may just buy one, they need more FPS games like Firewall Zero Hour. And you mention it's only $300?? Very tempting.Last edited by MikeLowrrrey; 10-26-2020 at 12:48 PM.

Login with ******** is no different than a steam or apple or Google login. You can just create a new baseline legal “burner” account that you don’t add any people or post on. Nobody uses ******** as a social network in the MySpace sense anymore except old people so who cares. There’s nothing for them to spy on if you don’t use ******** for anything other than a login.
Also you have to appreciate the fact ******** the juggernaut, the bottomless pit of money, is mass marketing the crap out of this unlike anyone could (they have displays all over stores and in ads everywhere on the internet) and the ones truly pushing a console style price bracket that the masses can afford giving the equivalent quality of a 1K headset for 300$ and taking a loss on it via subsidy of data mining.
******** is essentially a consumer data mining company at this point and their discount in exchange for consumer information trade off is making the mainstream growth of VR a reality.Last edited by KingSWRV; 10-26-2020 at 01:08 PM.

Lol its literally as simple as entering a name and dob.
When you got your PS3 and they asked you to make a login did you make such a fuss?
"forcing me to make a PSN account? -yeah I don't want to bother with any of that"
Literally all Playstation account credit cards have been hacked in the past.. I guess you're cool with that enormous security threat. But not with ******** knowing which games you bought so they can GASP* recommend you games you might like lol.

So a brand new version of a system had a bunch of sales due to it's following, and the developers saw profit from it? What the fuk did you think was going to happen? That people would buy this VR set and not play games on them? Obviously if it's brand new people will be buying it, but I'm willing to bet it will start to even off just like the one before it. It's just not as mainstream as people would think it is. If I had the option between a VR system and a next gen console/computer I'd take the latter every day of the week. I just don't see the benefit for myself, the above average minded gamer to have a VR headset. I'd be willing to bet Sony comes out with a PSVR2, but again the ratio of consoles to VR is astronomical that there are really no major outside competitors. I've played VR games and they are cool and all for like 10 minutes before I get bored and move onto something else.

Will you shut up about the oculus 2?
Are there even any good games? I see this feels like An undecided voter (not that kind either although we the people have had our share of that recently but hopefully trump did enough to win them last debate) picking the Xbox series x because it has more power.
I’m interested in moss and revii. Can oculus give a playa like me anything like those games?BLM (Brock Lesnar Matters)

It feels like theres a paradigm happening with this release in particular. Especially with current times the draw is extra powerful and the numbers are showing it. Something is different even with the people I run into online its exponential and mainstream. There lots of casuals and normal people all over the earth getting into it. Huge surge in all sorts of communities and upwards growth all around.
well its not that open. You have an Oculus user name just like on PS nobody sees you're real name. Its an avatar account with proper permissions. Its not like a mobile game that constantly wants to spam your ******** timeline. Its its own eco system and nobody following on ******** knows what you do nor does anyone see your real name.
I think you misunderstand the terms and conditions. None of us using really care its more like a blown out of proportion Reddit emo-topic.
What do you mean, you can play all games weather its Oculus store, Quest store, or Steam VR store. Moss is available on all those. Never heard of the other. But its the most open platform with the most legacy compatability especially the controller support goes back like 6 years to pretty much every VR app ever made natively supported.
Quest 2 does PCVR tethered to the PC both wired and wireless so it works like any other old wired headset in that mode. The standalone mode is more like when you travel or go on vacation.Last edited by KingSWRV; 10-26-2020 at 02:17 PM.
