    Bulk or cut

    Body stats:
    5'8
    158ibs
    Macros: 166P 190C 55F
    Lifts- Squat:275 Deadlift:330 Bench: 250 about 2000 calories

I'm trying to decide whether I should bulk, cut, or maintain. Basically, I want to gain as much strength and mass as possible while also being fairly lean (12-15% body fat). Attached pics.

Also, can u tell me what boy fat % I look like and what body parts that i'm lacking on?

You should definitely cut, you're in the mid-20's bodyfat wise.
All it takes is consistency, effort, proper nutrition, good programming, and TIME.

I’d suggest cutting down to about 145 and seeing where you’re at.

I agree that he should definitely cut.

Based upon his current BF level though (24-25% at 158 pounds) , he will likely still be up around 17-18% BF at 145.

Yeah I was being conservative because I figured he might also be gaining some lean mass (muscle + water, etc) during the cut, but either way he needs to lose a good amount before he bulks

I agree with cutting...but are you really benching 250 at 5'8 158lb and 20+% body fat? That's crazy. That means you're lifting about double your lean mass.

If he is being truthful about his lifting stats (Squat:275 Deadlift:330 Bench: 250) vs. his current weight (158 pounds), then he is well past the beginning lifter stage so I doubt that he would add any muscle onto his frame while in a significant deficit at this point. He'll probably lose a pound or two of lean mass dropping to 145 (or more, depending upon how aggressive he is with his deficit).

True, honestly looking at the pictures those stats seems really hard to believe, but I guess ya never know.

If your lift numbers are accurate (and based off of free weights and not "weight machine" or "Bowflex" numbers) then no, you will not be able to gain while in a deficit and will almost certainly lose a pound or so of lean mass as your weight drops 10-15 pounds.
