I like the list of excuses by the pro WOKE crowd.
There are thousands maybe millions of people not watching some of these sports bc of the whole social justice thing. We canceled one of my fantasy football leagues bc 7 out of the 10 guys aren't watching the NFL this year and i'm sure there are a lot of other leagues like mine out there.
How many SJW do you think started watching sports this year bc of the activism? I bet you can count that on one hand. You have to be coping pretty hard to think the social activism hasn't played a part in the viewership or you are really low IQ.LOL @ people who follow politics

NBA is literal trash this year and gets worse very single year and I doubt you'll find any actual NBA fans who disagree with that. No one gets excited to see LeBron vs a team of nobodies. Super teams are at an all time high, NBA won't shut up about politics, players have all gotten unlikable, Kobe passing has hurt the hearts of every NBA fan.

So far game 1 of the World Series drew over 9 million people. While that's the lowest WS on record, it's still more viewers than the most watched Finals game of 2020.
The Lakers have a huge fanbase, not just here in L.A. but around the country (though I'm sure many are just bandwagon fans), so one would have thought with one of the more popular teams in the Finals, that would have given the ratings a boost. Even with the social justice narrative turning many off, I'm surprised the ratings fell so low, even lower then the LCS. Can't speak for everywhere else, but around here people seem more enthusiastic about the Dodgers being in the World Series than the Lakers being in the Finals.
Sports viewership as a whole has been declining. I do think cord cutting is a a reason to consider, especially with so many people having financial trouble right now. Even the Stanley Cup ratings dropped. Though with both the NBA Finals and WS being available over-the-air tv, I'm not sure how that factors into ratings. Idk even know if people still realize they can get free TV with an antenna.

The whole thing just really shows how out of touch these pro athletes are with the common person that watches them play and buys their merch. In other words the people funding their lifestyles of Ferraris and diamond wrist watches.
Imagine being an average guy making an average living and spending your hard earned money on insanely priced tickets to cheer for these guys (mostly black), even buying and wearing their overpriced jerseys and shoes with their names on them and then still being lectured in a round about way that you should feel some sense of guilt and that you're still complicit in systemic racism because of the color of your skin. Talk about not knowing which side your bread is buttered on.

My point was that people were buying tickets (before Covid). They just wanted to watch sports. Race and politics didn't even enter the picture. Black, white, brown, yellow....they didn't care. They were there to support their team and their favorite players.
It's a tough situation and I can see why some of these athletes feel like they need to speak up but they need to be aware of how it comes off to their fans. Would someone who's a genuine racist wear a black athlete's jersey?
It seems they're getting the message but it might take time for people to come back around.

^^^Racist police officer who also cries about how racism doesn't exist, also cries reverse racism and typifies the stupidity of the racist right, referring to black people as "they" and regurgitating racist stereotypes.
