Looking good for Xbox - seems like most reports of issues were overblown.

Yea, how some described the heat was troubling. It does sound like the unit dissipates more heat than previous console but that it's all in line with it having more power. Nice to hear it's quiet as well.
MS has really done a great job with their hardware design. I am curious to see how PS5 stacks up. There is a lot more measures for cooling in the PS5, but it simply might just be necessary with the higher clocking.

I thought it would be good after seeing the first break down video with that austin guy.
They got it really compact with only using one giant fan.
ps5 also uses one giant fan but is way less compact. They said they were working on it for 2 fuking years, they had to have realized that the closer to a square, the more volume they get for the same surface area. They must have decided they dont want it blocky and it must be elongated.
Will be interesting to see the thermal gun temps of xbox vs ps5.

They did test the Xbox Series X by putting it in an over and seeing how it performed under extreme heat lol. You'll have the occasional unit overheat because of supply chain issues and defects, but the days of Xbox 360 RRoD are over.
