    After seeing them in person I have been a fan. I own an RS7 but if I wanted a car I would be more OK with putting a billion miles on I think the Stinger is where I would go.

    I believe that the Stinger and Genesis are the same powertrain so in this comparison I would go Genesis.

    both great cars, not much to help me make a deciding factor. only thing swaying me to the q50 is my hate for screens that stick out of the dash, pretty trivial though.

    Q50 has steering-by-wire. Jason C said it's easy to beat it on the track by steering faster than the system works. I wouldn't drive a Q50 for free because of that.

    I'm gonna bite the bullet and get a manual one someday. From the looks of it, as long as you deal with the rod bearings you're good imo. There's still electical issues, but the car would essentially be a project car. Would supercharge it to 800hp

    Both of these cars are about the same.

    The genesis is newer and has a nicer interior.

    And is probably much more comfortable and suitable for passengers. Also Genesis has a longass warranty.

    My friend has a Q60 Redsport. I only sat in it like twice but I felt it was very meh.

    I'd take a 440i grand coupe like someone said above. Get a 3 year old one with with a year left on the warranty and it should treat you well if maintained properly.

    I always buy slightly used. But let's say you're going to drive one of these cars to the ground. Think of how much more the BMW is going to cost you in years 5-12 or whatever.

    If you want a car that you can run to the ground, then don't get a turbo car. More moving parts will require more maintenance.

    The VR30 motor in the q50 isnt as reliable as you might think...these motors have their own issues.

    I haven't seen many issues for the g70/stinger 3.3t motor, so far it's been solid.

    The B58 motor (it's been out since 2016) in the BMW is proven to be surprisingly reliable compared to older turbo BMW engines.

    The trick with any car out of warranty is to find a good indy shop or do the work yourself. Avoid the dealer once warranty is gone.

    I do agree though that German cars will cost more to upkeep, than Japanese cars.

    I'm actually looking at 2014 Mercedes E550. Twin turbo with underrated 400hp 415t from the factor. Weistec has a tune that boosts you to 540hp and 715torque. And it has AWD. Beats everything ITT.

    Hyundai always has chit powerplants that choke severely in one area of the powerband compared to japanese cars. I'd take the infinity. If it has problems then build it.

    I looked at the Audi S4, and the BMW 440GT, I ended up with a Stinger GT2. Random people compliment me on it at least once a day, I swapped the KIA badges with the Korean KIA badges, and people are always asking me what it is. They usually guess Maserati, or Jaguar, one guy came up to me while I was filling it up and asked me if it was a Tesla.

    I bought it for $40k last June, and got a trade in offer from CarMax for $36k last month.

    I'm probably gonna trade it in for a Civic Type-R, or maybe a used M3, since I want something manual for a year or so, and in late 2022-2023 I'll trade whatever I end up with for an RS5.

    Have you actually done that exercise and identified all the items to replace? People always overstate BMW costs on the internet, if you have an indy mechanic it doesn't cost that much more to maintain a modern BMW than any other car in the same class. I have a BMW 435i that I've had for nearly three years with no reliability issues at all. Thinking about selling it and buying a 2013 BMW M5 for $30k no warranty, 650 rwhp twin turbo V8 hnnngh
