inflation does take time but if people start realizing that inflation is getting out of control then the market has a potential to tank. Warren Buffett the godfather of investing isn't just investing in gold which he said is useless for no reason, it is hedge for inflation which it is bound to happen. Markets have to follow the the economy somewhat. When the market has very high expectations for companies that cant sustain market input, because people arent working as much or buying goods, everything goes crashing down

I’m not sure what to do tomorrow. Hold or sell before earnings.
I originally decided not to trade this when I bought it and will just invest 10k into it regardless of early fluctuations. I’ll prob stick with the plan for once rather than dumping or selling calls. Idgaf if they haven’t turned a profit in 17 years. If there wasn’t something big developing then they wouldn’t have lasted this long IMO and the crazy hair guy has legit credentials.

Surprisingly today there were no major dips, not sure if that will be the case tomorrow. I imagine there will be a lot more selling leading up to earnings at some point though. If I were you, I'd take profit before market opens then buy back in one one of the dips.
1)If you don't take profit early morning - your only potential profit is whatever earnings yield, if anything, and your downside is not locking in any profit at all and getting slaughtered post earnings
2)If you take profit early morning - your potential profit is what you took in the AM, followed by any further gains you make from a potential dip, followed by anything from earnings. if earnings are chit atleast you locked in profit in the AM
I'm going with option 2. if no dip, just not buying in. not risking earnings, chit is like tossing a coin these days. Trump could release some major chit saying Biden didn't win tomorrow and PLTR could take a huge hit

Holding RKT & PLTR. Not into them with huge $$ . . . a few thousand, so holding and will see where they go long term.
The vast majority of my 401k and taxable accounts are in funds, so the % I have in individual stonks is pretty small in the grand scheme of things. But trying to make some gains where possible.*MFC Elder Statesmen Cabinet Crew*

Just checked my 401k . . . got $500 to go before I'm maxed out for the year. Since I'm old as phukk, I get the catch-up contributions the last couple years. Company will have put in right around $7k in matching for this year by the time it's done.
Time flies, boyos. Pay yourselves first.*MFC Elder Statesmen Cabinet Crew*

I feel like RKT has established a good support at 20-21. Seems like it's building up steam to have a big move up in the next few days/weeks. Or it could slowly bleed out again back to 19. Ugh.

Guess you had a chit mortgage broker. LOL. It can hamper your ability to purchase a house compared to someone....who is paying cash.
RKT is apparently just one of the biggest processors. Going through a refi right now, and my current broker does basically everything online....so im not sure the difference between her and RKT other than having a real person?MFC

I’ll admit, I don’t know what a covered call is. Cliffs?
The dividend stocks I’m Looking at are not much higher than their March and/or October lows So I can still get in now with good yields but I’m not about to dump it in right now near all-time highs with No vaccine approved, a Democrat taking office talking about shut downs and covid worse than it was I’m march and we’re not even close to winter yet.
I should also note that I only just acquired $48k of my cash a few weeks ago or else you damn well know it would’ve all been invested in March.
What do you recommend I do?

Dump it all into BABA and sell weekly covered calls for nice premium. A covered call is when you get paid an amount (the premium), but are then obligated to sell 100 shares x the number of calls you sold at the "strike price". These option contracts all have a date of expiration. If the stock price does not move higher than the strike price, the call will expire worthless, and you would just keep 100% of the premium you got paid.
IE - You buy 100 shares of BABA at $270/share. You sell a $280 11/20 call for $330. If the stock price stays below $280, the call expire worthless and you keep all the premium. If stock soars to $350, you still have to sell your 100 shares at $280. Your "break even" price is the strike price + the premium you're paid, which in this case would be $283.30
