I used to have an AVI of my traps and neck. I changed it a while back and tried editing my user title but this website is glitched and it will not let me change it anymore.

What's your plan for escaping the 9-5 as it relates to trading? Genuinely curious.
Also for those of you that have traded prior to the current clown market; was it really that much different? I know I had asked about profits prior to this kind of market but it seems like most posters just started after COVID.
I'm guessing there was less volatility but does that really affect things that much? People are making big $ and quitting their jobs to trade, I'm wondering if that will backfire once the market returns to normal.Last edited by TugOfPeace; 01-08-2021 at 08:18 PM.

idk about others but im not an expert but i started when nvidia was still like 30 bucks, amd was like 2 dollars still. for me there were many many red days, and theta gang raped everyone sideways. a lot of ppl got fked by shorts unlike tsla right now... sometimes you don't even check your portfolio for weeks, at least i didn't srs.
i remember tilray & marjuana market, like 2 years ago. tilray blew up to $150 then crashed. now it's at $11. many mj went up but i cashed out early and made some money. then the whole mj market crashed, some of my friends with paper gains got "diamond hands" and lost everything. my friend was up half a mil during the MJ market, then he lost it all.
or theranos with elizabeth holmes, similar to the biggest con ever like NKLA & trevor. pharmabro martin shkreli chit was funny af too.
so yeah this will fking backfire for sure once market crashes or returns to normal. 2020 market was not fking normal cuz almost everyone made money aka printer brrr meme. ppl who quit their jobs to trade, they will regret it srs. ppl holding tsla right now are all memeing tsla to the moon. remember paper gains don't mean chit. you actually gotta cash out.

This may be wishful thinking & I’m sure y’all may think I sound stupid, but I’m hoping to run my account up to 200k through options.
I’ve seen enough people do it on (lol)Wallstreetbets and I ask myself why can’t that be me. I mean honestly I’ve had many opportunities to esp with TSLA (wanted to buy $1k March calls presplit) but just made the wrong moves. But hoping that I can continue to have the same amount of success to eventually get there. Shooting for 200k by the end of the year.
Once I get there I’m going to sell my rental house, sell my house and buy my parents a place and provide them with enough money for retirement. & then I’ll have about 400k. I’ll buy a home in Thailand or the Philippines for like 150k-200k and just live a modest life. Leave money in tech stocks / bonds to provide income and growth and retire off that.
Truthfully just want to live a life where I don’t have to worry about a clock, and a schedule. Eat healthy foods, meditate, paint, walk in nature.
Making 80k a year working a moderately okay job doesn’t allign with me.
——
PreCovid I didn’t pay attention to a lot of the market. I had apple, Disney. I got burned a lot in college so didn’t actively trade. It definitely was less “exciting” stocks moved slower for sure.Last edited by Lb54TG; 01-08-2021 at 10:17 PM.

Sheesh some people just live different haha.
I could live comfortably off $1500 month once everything’s paid off and that’s what I’m hoping for in the future. Then obv sometimes travel expenses that will be more. But currently making 4K post tax.
What’s your timeline and price target for CTYX?
Haha. Well I went from 24K-4K last July and before learning about WSBs and I think I know the big L feels now. Made mistakes to hopefully not make them again.Last edited by Lb54TG; 01-09-2021 at 02:16 AM.

Costs $400 a month for a nice Airbnb villa in Thailand right now.
I would buy a home cash, and then every other aspect of cost of living would just be food utilities and maybe travel. I don’t imagine spending $100 a month on food in a country like that, as I spend $300 a month on food here. What last year did for me, being unemployed and alone was realizing I could live modestly and not miss out on anything, and preferred the simple things over materialism before. Now I’m working again and still not spending, putting all my money to growing my stack so I can break outta the system.
But ultimately the goal is to continue growing my account. 50% fixed income, 40% stocks, 10% Leaps.
I could do a corporate bond or a muni tax free bond for fixed income of 4K - 5k a year on 100k bond.
Idk those are my early thoughts on it. Just made it to 50k on my account, and just started miscing again recently, so I hope I can share this journey with you brahs.Asian Crew. Always Rep Back Crew. Positivity Crew.

Bought LEAPS on clean energy and steel for infrastructure due to Biden. Saw some news about the proposed stimulus next week in the trillions. Green New Deal will probably follow after. Inb4 pRiceD iN

this is similar size to Tesla Model S.
Model S with 70 kwH battery has NEDC range of 442 km
NIO et7 with 70 kwH battery has NEDC range of 550 km
Model S with 100 khW battery has NEDC range of 713 km
NIO et7 with 100 khW battery has NEDC range of 750 km.
NIO et7 with 150 khW battery has NEDC range of 1000 km
if this holds up in testing. this is big.
edit:

what in the flying phuck $65K USD for all that.
NIO is gonna corner the whole Chinese EV market.
I bet you Xi Jinping is subsidizing this to the moon.
They must be selling this at huge loss.Last edited by Carbonfibre; 01-09-2021 at 07:21 AM.

I started out the year doing short term trades and making some money but eventually decided just to buy and hold and keep adding money every month. A large portion of those gains were buying and holding good stock. Including Tesla.
Honestly man if you get 2 or 3 winners and go all in on them you're portfolio will grow an insane amount. I think Telsa is going to explode with democrats in office. The whole 'green' energy thing going for them.
Keep investing every penny you have. You'll make it brah.

For those looking to dump 9-5...
Do what i do.
Have the 9-5 fund the portfolio.
Portfolio funds rental property(s).
Rentals provide stream of passive income.
Passive income feeds back into portfolio.
Profit and enjoy life, and dont let 9-5 drag you down.MFC

This is what misc legend George Leeman does (srs). He owns rental properties in Florida and uses the income to live all over Asia
Although I think you'd want more than $400k to retire... I'm thinking more like $2-3 million before I'd be comfortable retiring at least (working a career until then to build up to that point).

nio day looks like it was a success. if it's not priced in.... calls are gonna fking print monday boyos
100% on this. 9-5 to fund portfolio is a huge one imo, idk why ppl quit their jobs. just keep funding it til you have enough passive income then freedom.
babyslayer the goat. 400k may be enough for frugal brahs kinda pushing it i think but my goal is around 3 million.

When you say rental properties can you specify?
Are you buying single homes and renting out the whole home?
I tried renting out my house last year, and renting out individual rooms, but been having super headaches with it. In the process of trying to get a guy out who’s lease has expired and he won’t leave..Asian Crew. Always Rep Back Crew. Positivity Crew.

I didn't own as many funds in the 2000s as I do now. I had little to any gains throughout that time period. I didn't have a lot of money in the market and when I picked up tech stocks they weren't doing a whole lot for years.
After focusing on investment science and portfolio management classes I started dumping a lot more money in about 5 years back. There were some ups and downs during the early 2010s period as well for me, but mostly green, slow increases. During the Trump era though, I went ham and maxed out my contributions, I've increased my portfolio like 400%, a lot of that was contributions and I'd have to check the ratio of gains vs contributions, but I'm averaging 19.8% per year for several years now. I never had anything close to that during Obama era, even after the economic recovery started, even after I picked up REITS at their bottom. I'm just glad I stuck with it and kept putting money in to be at the position I am now.★★★ A State of Trance Crew ★★★

If he lives overseas or travels then be uses property management. They generally take 10%. I’m planning on moving next year and instead of selling my current house I’m gonna turn it into a rental and buy another house. Mortgage, tax, insurance is 2k but I’m looking to Refi to 1700ish, should rent for 3k.
